I think that Racer X should stick with just paul. He does great with the guitars for the band, and adding another guitarist would be a bad thing in my opinion. It would be like adding another guitarist to Van Halen. The band just wouldn't be the same.

PG is my favorite guitar player, and I love Racer-X as a four piece, but if you never saw them live, back in the "Second Heat" days, you don't know what you're missing.

You know...I saw Queensryche last week and during Mindcrime..there are a few double leads (I don't believe in love). I watched them (and they made a couple boo boos) and for a second thought this was awesome. Then I remembered the Racer X double leads....made the QR stuff like child's play.

Yeah, Ken

The only other double-lead act that I ever saw that even came CLOSE to Racer-X was Jason Becker and Marty Freidman in Cacophony

GOD, i miss those days... have i said that already?

Was it the new guy making the boo-boos? I was at the back bar, so I couldn't see the stage all that well.

You were there, and didn't hello? Shame on you.

I opened for Cacophony @ Gazzarri's back in the day. It was such a trip to look out & see Marty & Jason watching. What a mind fuck. Now I don't suck, but having those two watching will mess with your head.

Funny thing. My band's name was Street Lethal.

why would Rx need a 2nd guitarist?

Who would be good enough at guitar to play whatever PG tells him/her to and not have an ego of their own?

It's not like PG cant do overdubs in the studio, so we still get to hear wonderful 2 guitar stuff... and since they play live about as often as the Beatles did, I think that there isn't much of a point in Rx having a 2nd lead guitarist.

I'll bet that's it in a nutshell. If for some reason there was more demand to see Racer-X play live throughout the U.S. I'll bet they could hire another guitarist. Whether or not they WOULD is another story. They seem to be doing fine as is. Very interesting thought, though. The Paul Bruce combo was unparalelled, and yes, I sometimes long for those days, too. Beautiful stuff.

Night Ranger did some killer harmony stuff as well... Check out the solos from "Eddies Comin Out" from the Dawn Patrol album... They especially did more harmony solos live than they did on the albums...X
