Post Endurance Picking
Well, I just got to picking a simple repetitive pattern.

To give you an idea it's groups of 8 notes.

Here's the pattern:
7 notes on one string (String 1), then 1 on a higher string (String 2). Then 8 notes on String 1.

I've been repeating this pattern in a scale, and moved around the scale.
I chose a routine where I play for a certain time on the G and B strings, and then on the D and G strings, in order to increase a bit the difficulty and have to jump from one pair of strings to anoter.

I noticed that even though playing it a few times is easy, I can't keep it up for a really long time.
Even holding up like this for 2 whole minutes gets difficult.

Was that any difficult for anyone ?

The Creative Guitar books by Guthrie Govan have stuff about increasing the number of repetitions one can do without making a mistake being just as important to practise as upping your max speed.

As Paul once said "my hand ran out of juice"

This happens to me all the time. I guess it's the same as practicing a sport. You also have to train your muscles to endure constant motion.

I don't know about you, but I don't play that much guitar nowadays. Maybe twice a week. And I am 100% sure that a lot of my struggles, when it comes to soloing, come from not having enough endurance.
