Post Yngwie Malmsteen Launches His Own Guitar Lessons Site
Wow... $35 to $100 bucks a month?!?! Do we at least get a few dozen of your favorite doughnuts thrown in with that Yngwie? Image

Quote:
"Want to learn to play guitar — and actually impress? Dying to learn Yngwie's techniques? Tired of watching nobodies trying to teach you how to play Yngwie's songs?

"Now, why would you take lessons from a random, when you can learn from Yngwie himself? For the first time in history, Yngwie Malmsteen is giving lessons on how to become a virtuoso like him! Inside, you will find lessons on everything from bending to six-string arpeggios."

The site also offers access to tabs, DVDs and other exclusives.

There are four levels of membership: Bronze ($34.99 per month), Silver ($49.99), Gold ($79.99) and Master Virtuoso ($99.99).

lol.

Anyway, what's bad about this is, everything he's ever done probably has a lesson on the internets. I'm sure there are a billion YouTube artists there who have, in great detail, figured out everything for us. Some of them are probably free.

He's nothing new. He's still amazing, but what he's doing now is nothing new.

Here is what guitarnoize.com had to say  ...

Quote:
Considering what a huge name Yngwie Malmsteen is you would think that when he launched an online lesson site that it would be pretty epic right? Well unfortunately the site looks like it was designed and built by a kid, seriously what was he thinking?! If you can get past the atrocious design it doesn’t take long to realize there is practically no content and if I really want to nit pick it seems the site was built by someone who doesn’t know how to develop with WordPress either… but if you are game enough to subscribe there are four levels of membership: Bronze ($34.99 per month), Silver ($49.99), Gold ($79.99) and Master Virtuoso ($99.99) but the details about what you actually get for your money are pretty much non-existent. If anyone signs up please leave a comment to let me know what you actually get and I’ll post details.

It's kind of sad, that a huge guy like Yngwie ended up with something like that.

But if you watch the video, in which he says what's going on on the site, you can pretty much tell it isn't going to be good. Very differently from what you'd expect from Paul Gilbert's Rock Classes, for instance.

well, I don't think the website is badly designed or anything, but just the lack of info is a problem.

Maybe the guy from guitarnoize had a browser where the website wasn't displayed correctly... on IE it looked good.

Anyways, lol it's way too expensive. With Pauls interactive lesson site, you can tell that it's really worth it. If I would have time to play guitar more often than just a hour per week then I'd instantly sign up there.
