Very cool!

I'm going to see the G3, but it's going to be Petrucci instead of Vai...

It'd be awesome to see Di Meola, Vai and Morse at the same stage!

Yep, saw that after the one you posted. Seems like Al Di Meola's guitar was VERY low in the mix during the rythm parts!

yeah it was pretty low in the mix, i'd love to see Tony Macalpine get a chance to do G3, he's got so many great songs, and the jams would be great! he's my fav instrumentalist for sure

Really?

I've heard a few of his songs and they all sound so... generic shred... The only reason why I'm going to this G3 is to see Steve Morse playing with his solo band!

Try listening to the Freedom To Fly record, that's my favourite by far, I heard that first then bought pretty much everything else he did before and after only not to dig it as much as that. Generic shred that record certainly ain't.

Generic Shred? I have to disagree big time on that one mate!

He totally stands out from the crowd. I think pretty much every one of tony mac's songs that i've heard have been awesome in some way, i think you should check out the album, Tony Macalpine Collection: The Shrapnel Years. There are killer melodies everywhere (Empire in the sky, tower of london, rats with wings, the sage, christmas island, the violin song.....sorry to go on but its a great album lol!) and i think for me, he is the master of epic solos, they always complement the song so well. His new self titled album is amazing as well, his improv is sooo good as well!

(wow..i really like tony mac don't i?)

ROCK!

What a coincidence, I was just listening to Tony MacAlpineā€™s Edge of Insanity yesterday. I love that record! Tony is such an amazing player.
