 Interesting Topic/ Discussion On Intonation.
Okay, so I've been doing some interesting research on intonation in general with guitars. The main problem with us guitar players is that we all come to a time when we're playing any type of chord progression and we just can't get those chords to sound in tune with each other, no matter how many times we re-tune our guitars over and over again. This is what I have discovered to get intonation to be almost perfect for guitars. This is where you guys come in, Which system do you think works better? And Why? You Decide! Earvana V.S. You'll never get perfect intonation with straight frets. TT is the only way to go.

Can you imagine being a luthier & having to work with THAT, though?

I don't know how to feel about this. I feel that people who use this feel so horrible when they used to play with normal frets. Through the years, I've learned how to tell whether I'm in tune or not but only when I'm playing chords (when the notes aren't ringing right). At the same time, whenever I play single notes, I can't really tell if the difference is microtonal. Is that normal or am I just deaf?

Actually, I read an interview with Steve Vai, and he said that it's easy to get Used to the True Temperament freats... And as far as I know, luthiers dont install them. If you want a TT neck, uol gotta send them your neck and they will install their freats for you. Pao, I am the same way. It really annoys me when I'm playing in different octaves and the notes sound off.

We could all go fret-less?
In all seriousness people complain about the equal temperament system being out of tune, especially on thirds and sixths. if things sound good to you, I don't see too much issue.

I believe fretless instruments are hard to play for us, guitar players. I never played one (actually, I tried playing a violin once, but it was before I started playing the guitar, so I had no idea what I was doing and it sounded horrible too).
You have to have your fingers spot on the notes you want, otherwise you'll sound out of tune all the time.
