Post AXE-FX II does ADA Flanger
So someone on the Fractal forums was looking for the PaulvsGodzila Effect. I have a Modded ADA flanger (Paul Marossy) and the Ibanez Flanger.
IMO - The modded Ada beats the Ibanez hand down but I can get that and more with the axe II.
Check it here.

The ADA sounds SO MUCH BETTER!!!

The AF-2 sounds too even.

I know his ADA was "broken" which was why it sounded so unique. Unfortunately, there was an accident where a fan plugged the pedal to something and it exploded

I used to get some great sounds from a normal purple BOSS flanger by using weak 9v batteries that were just about to run out of power. For some reason it really fucked with the signal enough to make it sound cool.

That AxeFX clip sounds good. I'm really impressed with those things.
Tube amps are going the way of the dodo bird.

AFAIK the fan wanted to "help" with the setup (VIP -> present at soundcheck), plugged in the effects and forgot about the effect beeing made for a lower voltage than the venues 230V.
Without a transformer in between this was an easy and quick way to blow everything up.
I'm kind of sure he was pissed about that.
I'd have been pissed anyway...

I'm sure Paul was probably angry but cool about it. He's very nice, really. :p

I remember seeing some thread on the Axe Fx forums about how they can't dial it in etc.
