Post Price on a PGM 301
Dear friends,

I´m thinking about selling my PGM 300.

It is in mint condition, made in 2004. Zero signs of wear, dints, scratchs...not even the classic "belt scratches".

How much would be a fair price for it?

I´ve seen that these have become quite rare in Ebay and assorted sites, so I wanted to ask about a "fair price" to sell it.

Thanks for your valuable input!

Gus

Someone on the forums tried to sell a PGM300 for 1500$ not too long ago. Don't know if it was the original one or RE though.

Ouch...yeah, it is the 301.

Fixed bridge...

Original one, not reissue or J craft team...

I'd say around $800-1,100 since it's "rare" but very clean. Does it have the old neck profile?

I think so...I have to see the serial nº in order to see the year it was made...

I thought it was a bit more expensive than that price :!:

I think I paid about 1,600 for the guitar, new...8 years ago...was looking maybe to get a price around that amount...

Pricing may be different in your area of the world, but in the US I would think you might be able to get 1100-1300 because its in good shape.

Two recent examples:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-PGM-30 ... 33727d74de

GBP780 = USD1230

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Ibanez-Pau ... 1e6b769376

USD1225

Draw your own conclusions :)

I am sure you can sell it for more in Chile.

One of those would go for at least 2000 dollars here in Brazil.

Thanks!

Those are different than mine though, since my guitar was not crafted by the J team (it is older than that) and it does not have those "lines" on the back of the neck...it is pure "straight" maple...

Will see what I can do.

Thanks all for your wonderful input!

It's crafted by J team. It's just during those times, they wanted to separate "Prestige" from China/Singapore/Korea made guitars, which was why they put in "J team" on the Japan made guitars. Your PGM is definitely made in Japan.

Also, AFAIK, people actually prefer the older neck. I know it was such a big thing here on the board because they increased the sizes of the neck by just a few cm and nobody knew why (it was odd).

A few cm is a big deal.

The difference is actually 2 mm

Personally I switch between guitars with very different profiles regularly. A few mm isn't that big of a deal to me. If you are used to the old profile that 2mm is noticeable.

Yeah, sold it last Saturday...

It went for a bit more than U$1,600, so it was a great deal.

I got a bit more that what I paid for it, so I´m happy :)
