Post Good budget acoustic models
I know nothing about them/ I would look at some that looked nice, like coloured Ibanez and whatnot, but I don't KNOW anything about acoustic guitars to actually make judgement. I am a student, don't know what I should be spending on an "okay" guitar. i.e. no fretbuzz and setup from factory, good build quality, etc

I'm guessing Ibanez isn't the way to go?

I've read great things about Seagull acoustic guitars.

The basic models go for around 500 bucks, and they're supposed to sound and play really nice.

Actually, I have the same doubt about acoustic guitars, but as far as my research went, I think the Seagulls are a good choice.

Yamaha makes good low end acoustics for a cheap price.

I've heard good things about Yamaha here at the Forum too.

I'll just wait until I get there and try some guitars out at Guitar Center or something.

It tends to vary with Yamahas in my experience, definitely try them out though. I'm happy with my Art & Lutherie, but I'm not sure if you're going to find them in the UK. It's kind of like the possibly even more Canadian branch off of Godin.

Freshman guitars is the way to go dude. Really well priced for the quality and materials they use.

What are you looking for? Steel string? Nylon? Electric/Acoustic?

Steel. Electros get a bit pricey :(

I looked at a few Freshman, they seem very nice. I've tried a Fender a few days ago, it was pretty cool, it was like it had a strat neck or something! Yamaha I know are trie and trusted, so I've been looking at a few, a little. Takamine, those seem to be made of gold, they are really nice, but I'm not sure about the price as I don't have a job anymore. Same goes for Seagull...

Doesn't help that I dropped £90 on a new keyboard that won't arrive til some time in December! (was necessary)
