Post Recording Material and Software
Hi guys,

I'm looking for two things.

1. Some software I can use to edit my songs. I want to be able to use multiple tracks / layers. (ideally free)

2. I currently use a reasonably cheap camera to record my songs (this is the quality) whilst it isn't bad it would be great to be able to get it sounding better, could you recommend a set-up? What I currently use - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFhEO_7hec0

Thanks in advance guys!

Hey man!

I use Cubase 4 but you can download Cubase SX3 (cracked) pretty easily via torrent. If you don't wanna do that then you can go and download Audacity for free. That's pretty good too. Just type it into google, visit their site and download it for free. Easy.

Camera wise I use a Flip Cam Ultra HD. They're pretty expensive so you probably won't wanna look into them. I'm not sure what's good for a cheap cam.

Good luck!

How deep do you want your audio editing capabilities to be? Do you want good eq and compression and stuff like that, and the ability to add plugins and virtual instruments for drums/keys/bass? Or are you just going to record a POD tone for videos or record guitar riffs and then leave it at that? If the latter, you could probably just get Audacity (which is free), but if you're looking to edit and mix/eq multiple tracks, you should probably invest in some kind of DAW like Logic, Protools, or Cubase.

Audacity doesn't really have the capability to eq tracks. If you're just looking to cut things and paste here and there though, it will do the job.
