What's the tone on the 700 like?

For me, it was always a Les Paul sounding guitar, but that's just based on the thick body and neck...

Too me the 700 sounds a little muddy. I can't tell you if its more the wood or the pickups. I don't have another guitar with super distortions for comparison. It is mahogany like a Les Paul, but most Les Paul's have a maple top to brighten things up a little. I wouldn't call the neck on the 700 thick either.

Super distortions are very dark and muddy. I had one in my ash destroyer it was aweful.

It was designed in the days of super bright marshalls so the pickup suited that sound. Through my legacy, that pickup couldn't come out fast enough.

Well, it was a custom, so it's not totally "fake", as it wasnt meant to be a copy of another one.

It's been a while since I've seen one of those straps! They look really cool!

I also like the 700, but it's waaaaaaaaaaay out of my range!

I was watching that strap and wasn't expecting it to go for as little as it did! Completely forgot to check it near to the end of the auction!
Congrats though, it looks awesome on the 400!

Post Re: PGM's available in 2011
Hey, new to the website (wish i knew about it a few years ago!)

I have a PGM300re which i am in love with but i cant find a suitable string gauge for the bridge to sit flat and stay in tune. I am no tech expert when it comes to these things, i just like to play it like i stole it!

Currently using elixer 9-46's (i use elixer because i live in the middle east and all other strings seem to get destroyed from the air conditioned enviroment so its the only string i can use) so if anybody can suggest a suitable gauge that works with the standard spring set up i would be happy to try it and see if it works.

Also can anybody tell me what acoustic guitar make and model paul uses on acoustic samurai.

Cheers all! PG FOR EVER!

When You bought the Guitar, it was set-up with 0:09-0:42 gauge strings! So now you use a set that has the treble strings of a 0:09 set, and the Bass string 0:46!
No wonder it doesn't stay in tune and parallel to the body! Take it to a Guiatr luthier to have it set-up for your " new' string gauge!, or switch back to your old Gauge. you should be fine then!
String brand doesn't matter! Just the Gauge!

Good luck!
