 Re: My Custom Ibanez Epiphone
Who cares what the actual color is? It's not like you've ever seen the real thing. We've only seen the photos/videos so in our perception - this IS the real color of the guitar

As you stated we only seen it in those 20+ yo bootleg videos (which have deteriorated long before they were even transferred to DVD) and ''amateur'' photos. But I trust the ''Driller Killer'' photo and the GFTPM poster more than any other photo simple because they were a photo shoot/pose and not a live shot eg ''Double Hendrix'' there the Epi looks fluorescent orange/red...There are other good mag shots of the Epi and Iceman but I feel these two are the closest.

 Re: My Custom Ibanez Epiphone
Another Good Photo Color Comparison for the Iceman/Hybrids would be the "guitar" For the practicing musician mag 1988 issue with George Lynch on the front cover. And if you ever wanted to do Bruce's Green Epi, you cold use the same photo!

Hey! I found your forum doing some online research on the ol' 6-string twanger for myself, and had to join specifically to tell you your project looks really great-very faithful to the original. Here's some pics of one that I've got on the go. It's all mahogany. I took some liberties and made the body slightly thicker, with strat-style contours. Kahlers are really expensive, so I just went with a through-body hardtail like Paul eventually did anyway. The FB is ebony,24 frets. I also angled the headstock back slightly, and the neck tenon extends into the body to beneath the bridge humbucker. That said, by far THE most difficult part of the build has been the finishing. Anyway, Kudos to you, sir. And it's good to see that somebody else out there has hung onto their May '88 Guitar World. Maybe the IbaPhone will be the next "Red Special".

 Re: My Custom Ibanez Epiphone
Thanks, guys! I'm gonna try to get a demo of it together to post on Youtube soon, if I can get my chops rusty enough to mangle Scarified as badly as I used to. Be preprepared for crappy camera-quality audio . I've got 2 other projects to finish up before I can get around to it, but I'm definately going to have to build myself a green one now! And maybe an orange one....

That would be interesting to see! Please let us know when you manage to get the youtube demo up.

 Re: My Custom Ibanez Epiphone
That's a nice vintage burst! Now you've got me almost rethinking the green. I might even be able to do the odd NON-metal gig without having to overempthasize my sense of irony or nostalgia for the 80's. Plus, working with spray acrylic lacquer was a HUGE pain in the ass- I've done sunbursts more quickly with less headaches, & I probably spent more $ on the finish than I did the hardware.
