Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
While this seems like a fun side project, I'm not looking forward to it as much as Portnoy's other one with the Morses. I saw Mike Orlando live last year and thought he was OK. Really don't think he's at a level to be playing with Portnoy, to be honest. But this is based on hearing him for about 45 minuts, plus a couple of youtube videos. Will still definitely pick up the album.

Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
At first I saw the vid of Mike Orlando on the news feed and though "WTF? Who is he? Why are they so interested in the fact that he is the guitarist?" Then I read who the other guitarist is!

Yes, rich ward is faster than shawn lane by far bro. i listen to rich ward because in metal there's not many guitarist who can play real blues rooted solos but can also shred if so name me some. walking your fingers up the fretboard at the slow speed rusty did only using 1 string alternate picking is very easy, starting with pinky/index/middle/ponter 1/2/3/4 next 4 frets you didnt play . rich ward hammered on every note with 4 fingers using 4 strings no picking man, seriously get a clue .

Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
it would be cool if Rich actually plays his 4 fingers 4 strings lick on that album the alchemist wrote: While this seems like a fun side project, I'm not looking forward to it as much as Portnoy's other one with the Morses. The project with the 2 Morses is already out since last month: Neal Morse - Testimony 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wf6lS44fDEI already have it, it's fantastic. The song that's heard in that youtube preview is the a good reason to buy it.

Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
Actually I was talking about the project with Neal and Steve Morse, Casey MacPherson and Dave LaRue. Haven't received many details on that since they were in the studio. Testimony 2 is really great. A good return to top form after Lifeline, which I thought was kind of patchy. I can't wait to hear the whole thing live at the High Voltage Festival in London!
Gosh, it's such a shame that I can't hear the name Rich Ward without chuckling anymore...

Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
Steve Morse wrote on his Facebook that the project is being taken care of... it seems they're mastering (I don't remember for sure) the album.

Re: New Mike Portnoy Project: Adrenaline Mob
ADRENALINE MOB — the new band featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), SYMPHONY X frontman Russell Allen, guitar virtuoso Mike Orlando (SONIC STOMP), bassist Paul DiLeo and STUCK MOJO/FOZZY axeman Rich Ward — will release its debut EP on August 9. The self-titled effort will available via iTunes as well as sold in physical form at the group's upcoming shows and online store. Self-produced by the band, "Adrenaline Mob" features four original tracks as well as a blistering cover of the Ronnie James Dio-era BLACK SABBATH classic "The Mob Rules". From the opening riff of "Psychosane" through the over-six-minute epic-sounding "Hit The Wall", it is clear that ADRENALINE MOB are in class all their own as musicians.
"Releasing the EP gives fans around the world a chance to get a taste of the MOB NOW without having to wait until the full-length album comes out at the beginning of next year," states Portnoy.
"Adrenaline Mob" track listing:
01. Psychosane 02. Believe Me 03. Hit The Wall 04. Down To The Floor 05. The Mob Rules
Hot on the heels of the release of "Adrenaline Mob", the band will head out on its first-ever headline tour, which kicks off in Allentown, Pennsylvania on August 14 and runs through mid-September. The trek will make stops in various markets, including Chicago, Denver and San Francisco. ADRENALINE MOB has also been tapped to open for GODSMACK on select dates of the Massachusetts act's upcoming tour.
