Post Best show of 2011
Alright.

You all know I´m a "gig freak" and always go to shows whenever I can.

But, already in May 2011, this year has had the best show possible: ACCEPT.

What a masterful demostration of power, consistency, technique and HEAVY METAL. It has been one of the greatest gigs I´ve ever been to (actually, it is currently standing at #3 in my all time fav gigs, after AC/DC in Buenos Aires and KISS in Santiago).

If you get the chance to see the band live near your area, PLEASE GO. They are in top form, Wolf Hofmann is ripping up the guitar as usual, and what a monster bass player Peter Baltes is. Simply amazing.

Also, Tornillo (the new singer) is great, and nails all the classics.

If you´re a heavy metal fan, you can´t miss this show.

well, it was paul's show in bucharest for me. maybe because it was my first time seeing him play live but also because he played paul vs. godzilla and will my screen door stop neptune.

Devin Townsend probably did the best show I´ll see this year(and I´m even seeing him again in July!). Mr. Big always do a great show but the entertainment value isn´t really up there compared to some other bands(June 8th).

I´m hoping for Vai to play here too, he´s been planning a world tour for the fall. He might be the best after all.

Gregoire Maret @ The 55 Bar in NYC was a great experience. Probably my best concert this year, followed by Rush @ Madison Square Garden and Mike Stern / John Schofield in my hometown!

This video has to be seen to be believed. The bit from 4.30 onwards is incredible. By far the best concert I have ever been to.

Went to see Loudness a couple of weeks ago. I think it was the ONLY show I've been to this year. Got to meet Akira, briefly. Very good show!

The opening band was equally as enjoyable. They specialized in Metallica covers only from Master of Puppets, & earlier.
The band's name is, "It Should have been Lars".
They had their stuff down!
And they were funny as hell, too!

I just saw UFO a couple weeks ago, the show in New Hampshire was AWESOME, so much better then the show in Foxboro... where they had a short setlist cause a Poison cover band was scheduled to hit the stage at 10. Cut short for a cover band
so far the only show i've seen this year, however Metallica is next

Hahaha, that is awesome.

And I think the best show I saw this year was Jeff Beck doing his Les Paul tribute.

I'm really annoyed about missing this. I live 5 minutes from the O2 arena and had planned on trying for really last minute desperation ticket sales on eBay/Gumtree but by the time the shows came round, I had made plans for every night without thinking.
I saw all the old men with Pink Floyd t-shirts stretched over their bellies walking past me every night on my way home. :(

Right now Mr. Big in Denmark is a strong contender on my part as well!
