I thought MissMisstreater was your guitar's name ~ maybe? His audience was everyone ~ he wasn't so "perfect" and "glammed" that the guys detested him ~ but the ladies were captivated ~ Still are ~ that British charm to us Americans is dangerous ~ Peace, V

Mmm......just saw the "Love Will Set You Free" video on VH1 Classics ~ I am impressed that Coverdale still has 85% of his voice ~

I think ~ Sykes was good & rolled with the changes ~ had Adrian not hurt his wrist ~ Steve may never have joined ~ not calling him Ringo or anything ~ he's a talented guitarist ~ the solos were respectable/recognizable and a "component" of the music ~ Peace, V

One of the songs has a sexy open strum ~ and Mr. Coverdale's voice is ....
Gotta play it again ....

Sykes was a milestone in WS´s carreer, writing the band´s most succesfull material. Vai, although a killer player, didn´t trascend into the history of the band, as long as I´m concerned...

 Re: Whitesnake- Forevermore
Woah ~ Via was on board when the "polish" too ~ made them history ~ Adrain and Vivian had a duel some nights ~ they are both underrated ~ Well ~ been listening to the new CD ~ "Shine a Light' ~ has a mix of "Southern Rock" chord progression and 70's Grand Funk Railroad ~ party rock ~ "One of These Days" ~ that sexy open strum against David's vocal "grain" is very inviting...again ~ very 70's influenced ~ Lyrically ~ it's very "I like ya baby, but I love me more" ~ the lyrics are also memorable ~ cause we all LOVE to sing along ~ Now I have to say ~ it's missing some of the "drama" and foreplay of the 80's ~ ever so slightly less seductive ~ it's a new more honest pick up line ~ I am impressed that David still has his full voice ~ let's face it ~ he IS Whitesnake ~ The current line up is seasoned & the music is well executed ~ Martinis and Whitesnake Peace, V

 Re: Whitesnake- Forevermore
IMHO Whitesnake would've fell off the map if it wasn't for Sykes being on that selftitled 87 album... No one else could've pulled that off... And call it "lucky" that Adrian hurt his wrist and Vai stepped in because "Slip Of The Tongue" would not have been the same nor would it have enjoyed the same success without Vai... Adrian while a good guitarist and decent songwriter is not strong enough of a player to pull off a successful album on his own...

 Re: Whitesnake- Forevermore
Mmmmmm……this is as brief as I can be and I'll be out of pocket for days Well….in my opinion ~ Blue Murder was a near miss ~ the only song that was memorable was “Out of Love” - it was actually Whitesnake-ish ~ Sykes had the trilogy ~ vocals, writing and guitar talent ~ but not enough void of the Coverdale leadership or fostering ~ or perhaps chemistry. The Whitesnake CD as compared to Slip of the Tongue ~ I’ll confess I had to revisit the song lists ~ the self titled was epic ~ so I’m leaning towards Sykes as the best guitar playing contributor as noted by Xelatunes ~ the revamped Crying in the Rain & Still of the Night were career making songs ~ Here I go Again’s mass appeal brought more people to the party ~ Slip was overall sleeker ~ not quite as raw & raunchy to me ~ the magnificence and drama of Judgement Day came close to guitar heaven though ~ Regardless ~ I feel ~ the guitar solos on both ~ were still a component and not any will be listed as the Top 15 solos ~ of all time ~ the music was a perfect balance ~ of man made and God given sounds/instruments ~ Mr. Via’s love and connection with his instrument are for the most part (post Whitesnake to date) not clouded nor complimented with vocals ~ he may make the Top 15 list ~ not top 10 though ~ of course ~ the best may be yet to come as a CD with all guest vocalist with his Bad Horsie would be amazing ~ he has the dream career ~ he can contribute on a myriad of avenues ~ I'll confess ~ I'm not an instrumental lover ~ only on classical ~ I get bored on a 9 minute guitar exhibition ~ As for Adrian ~ I agree ~ however ~ he seemed to know his limitations ~ hence Vandenberg’s dynamics and post WS efforts ~ Sykes did not ~ Peace, V

Very good CD. Some smokin' guitar playin' on this one. Skip over the ballads.

Musically A GREAT disc and while I love DC's vocals his songwriting (re: lyrics) is just so damn repetitive now..... I'm SO GLAD REB is FINALLY doing more solos!!! WINNING !!!
