That was AMAZING!

Since I can't shred anymore... maybe I'll start practicing this king of stuff.... I was just thinking about it this weekend, as I was playing I Want You (She's So Heavy).

I knew it would be Andreas Öberg as soon as I heard "Swedish George Benson".
Andreas considers George Benson to be the best Jazz guitarist and/or his favourite.

holy fuck - that's guy is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not that I don't love the stuff he's playing, but could you imagine him with a little more distortion? Like govan-ish, that cornford sound.

Man, he's awesome.

Kurt Rosenwinkel is another guitarist who often sings what he's playing.
Check him on youtube, he's amazing!

I jammed some Gypsy Jazz with Andreas this summer, and he is one of the coolest guys I've ever met. Totally mindblowing player too. Huge thanks to my friend Jon Larsen for introducing us.
He also has his own "lessons" website if anyone is interrested: http://www.andreasguitaruniverse.com/

LUCKKKKKKKKKYYYYYY

Kurt Rosenwinkel is indeed also amazing, but obviously he and Andreas are completely different.

Kurt came to my school near the end of this past semester and played a concert with the jazz faculty at my school. Fucking awesome show. He really puts himself in another world while he is playing - it's interesting to watch. I've read that he had a mic installed into the body of his guitar to pick up his singing. It's definitely a part of his sound and you can hear it in most of his stuff, live or studio.
