 I've checked your project from the first post right now, just couldn't stop reading and looking to the pics!... Congratulations! It is incredibly accurate to the real thing...can't wait to see It finished!

Reagarding back logo, if you have the possibility to do It properly, I would paint and lacquer It. It would be nicer than using a sticker and then applying lacquering. It is not the main point of difference of course, but you can see that difference for example on Zakk Wylde's Bullseye versions, Epi is using a decal lacquered and Gibson really paints It and then lacquers... I think that after all the work made, It really deserves the last effort!

Oh, thanks a lot for the comments guys! :D

Sorry I did not post anything lately, I’ve been busy fixing my Iceman up, there were a LOT of bugs I had to fix, I actually just came back from fixing it, I basically spent all morning and up till now fixing it, I will update the Iceman thread soon…

I am actually waiting for the lacquer, it will be a few weeks…the Epi is all primed and ready to be painted I just have to rub it down to get it really flat. Unfortunately the primer has started to crack…it does not look like a reaction, could be a drying thing. I hope it stops cracking otherwise I’ll have to strip it…

As for the RACER X logo I found something that may work well as a sticker, painting it could cause problems so I will just avoid it…

I will still need to put on the Ibanez logo on to the headstock I might use thin decal paper/film to make the logo.

Painting it will be a struggle for me since there no good guides to show you how you ‘Actually ‘meant to do it, and this is the first time I am trying to achieve a factory finish.

:D Awesome. I have a similar project that I will now finish thanks to you! I was wondering what size frets those are on the X Ibanez neck? What do you think was on the originals Paul and Bruce guitars? Dunlop 6100? or 6105 maybe.....? Yours looks pretty close....

Paul said he had tall frets...I don't know what size my are, but they are like on modern Ibanezes.

Just go for the tallest ones, you can't go wrong with them, you get super control of the strings!

Post pics when you're done! :P

Oh, they are small...I just have to sand them down and reapply the primer.

Decided not to paint as it's so much work and will look worse than current finish!
Rewiring this week, and fitting tonepros posts, no kahler rout , going for tone over dive bombs!
Gigged it on sat, great tone.

The painting will be delayed...the primer keeps cracking and it is fuckin’ pissing me off... :x
I will just have to strip it off...
I have no idea why it is cracking but I ani’t taking any chances...
IF anyone has finished guitars before please give me some advice on what I can put on. :|
