Time for an update!!! :P

Change of plan dudes!

I decided to add the radius now to avoid misplacing the Knob or Switch... :?

I tried to use the closest router bit I could find and I think it looks quite
close, please feel free to comment, I took some pics of my EPI against Paul’s, so you can see.

Here they come! :P

In looking at it and comparing it next to the picture of PG's, and if I was an overly critical kind of guy I would say that the top horn is not quite big or long enough...

good thing I'm not and overly critical kind of guy though....

Time for an update!!! :P

I have finally installed the Knob & Switch and screwed the Covers on too, I think it looks pretty close! :D

All routs were done free hand... 8)

The POT rout was tight, I just managed to fit it in...this guitar is very compact!

Some more pics  ...>
Hey Volkan it's time to change your wallpaper! HE HE HE!

I was wondering, what is the trem cavity drawn out on the back for if the Kahler routing is already done? It looks amazing though, the routing is impressive. Did you use a Dremel tool for the rounded edges?

OK, I was gonna install an EDGE system in the early stages but changed my mind because I did not think this body could support an EDGE even though Paul and Bruce had one early on too...so I made a mock EDGE cavity and blocked it with a modded back plate so it looks like there was an EDGE before...the back cavity is there as a datum to position the back covers.

No I used a Router [big thing] with a radius tool at about 3000RPM...which was probably too slow... :?

I’ll probably shape the access joint soon...

Time for an update!!! :P

I finally got rid of that square heel and made it nice and smooth! :D

So all I got to do now is to install the Jack, connect all the routs, change the bullet truss rod nut to a cylinder one, chisel a flat surface after the 1st fret and drill the locking nut holes...and then paint it...

But for now here is the latest:

How much did all this awesomness set you back so far? (if you don't mind me asking).

About $350-$450 so far…this guitar will probably cost around $500-$600 to build.
Kahlers are not cheap… :?
There is not much left to do, the hard part will be getting paint, making a logo and to make this:

OK, this took some DIY skill to do!... Basically I took out the bullet nut, chiseled the excess FB off and filed it flat, marked and drilled the locking nut screw holes and recessed them too, then fitted the cylinder nut.

Paul has the same thing on his EPI, I suspect it was done by Ibanez to fit a TOP LOK III Locking Nut...but being a Kahler endorser he put a Kahler one on, he had it down in two positions...

I also sanded most the headstock. :)

Back when I made my signature, I made a logo similar to that (all black) that I could add 3D effects to.

Maybe you can find a good use for it.
