This project is going to rock.
But im just wondering. When you build a guitar, so "homemade", does teh tone get good too, or is only the look great?

Hmm...I cannot quite answer that at the moment...

It all comes down to how playable you want to make it...or what suits you best.

I take my time and make sure I am happy with all the features, I am a BIG endorser of Ibanez JEM & RG and I love how well Steve and Ibanez designed this guitar, in my opinion it is the best electric guitar ever made, a true shredders dream...and this is how well I plan to make my Racer X Ibanezes play, there is no point in having a guitar that looks nice but is a nightmare to play... :(

I did play my Iceman a while back and I did like how it felt, and it’s my first time with a Kahler Trem, but I feel the guitar will need a few tweaks... :?

Hopefully I will learn for this and make my Epi even better! :D

THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF CRAFTSMANSHIP

Well I would try looking for a mid 80's Ibanez Destroyer X Series, or an Ibanez with a neck like it. :)

They have stopped making these a LONG time ago so it will cost you, but its for a good cause, right?

There are a few types of this neck so if you do find one and not sure just ask me!

Time for an update!!! :P

I have made the Kahler & SD Distortion routs, probably twice as fast as the Iceman's!!! :D

I will not screw them on yet, I will wait until I have the neck pocket made and the neck screwed on.

As always pics!

Looks a little like Eddie's Charvel!

Time for an update!!! :P

The neck is now screwed on! :D

The Kahler, Br. PU & Nut have been positioned too!! :D :D

The strings sit very well on the FB and don’t roll off...like on a Vintage Strat!

I have also tuned it to Eb and left if overnight...checked in the morning and it was still in tune! 8)

There is also no noise or movement from the neck pocket and overall the guitar feels very good even better than my Iceman... although that could be because the frets are bigger on the Epi and your elbow doesn’t get tired!
