What would you think about a pgm guitar with the same shape
as the fireman? But less expensive and much less exclusive. What if it wasn't a pgm, but just a normal Ibanez guitar?
I like the idea, I'd love to have a guitar in the shape of the fireman, even if it's not as fancy or doesn't sound as great. I just really like the shape of the fireman, . .

The fireman doesn't have f-holes or the typical one volume knob controls of a PGM, I wouldn't mind seeing it. Those are the features I think of first when I think PGM. If paul didn't design it himself I probably wouldn't consider it a PGM.
If they made a reasonable priced guitar with that body shape I would buy one.

Like this one for example.
I'm building it myself but unfortunately this isn't a cheap version of the fireman.
24,75 scale
Walnut neck with ebony fretboard (1st grade)
Set neck (bigger junction than a standard set neck. actually it's a kind a neck thru-set neck construction)
Walnut body
Walnut top (the top is one piece and no 2 pieces as builders always do)
This walnut I have is top quality.
6105 dunlop frets
Gotoh tuners - bridge and tailpiece (GOLD)
2 dimarzio air classics with gold covers (same wiring than the PGM401 - only a 5 way selector and a volume knob)
The finish:
red ruby dye on the top
black on the back
white perloid pickguard (kikusui fireman style)
GOLD LEAFING (like a binding but made of gold leaf)
I still have a lot of work on it but here are some pics

Just recently (as in within the last week), I was also hoping that one day Ibanez would come up with a standard issue PGMFRM. At first I didn't care much for the FRM, but lately it has grown on me like a rash; I'd kill to have one. You know what I mean.

Hey man, fair fucking play on your custom job. Looking good. Although I thought the Fireman was always cool, seeing a blank body and neck like that shows how much potential the shape really has. Paul really was onto something with it. A couple of other models would definitely be cool.
I don't know if the body shape would permit F Holes, but can you imagine a fireman body with the aesthetics of the Orange PGM?

Definitely.
Or even if it did have the F-Hole, it'd still be beautiful.
I can't refer to the Fireman as anything less than desirable. Other than Korina, certainly a HUGE array of different finishes can match it. A few lower end models would even be quite nice. Even in if it were as simple as, oh, I don't know...this.
Or something as crazy that'll probably break $7,000:
Standard issue = want.

Amazing photoshops. If Ibanez saw those I bet they would seriously consider making them.

Thanks, but Ibanez would rather be more like "Oh, look; another creative customer." And that'd be it; nothing more, COULD be less.

You're right. I forgot that Ibanez doesn't like awesome guitars anymore, or money.
