Post Boss GT8 Question
Hey I've looked this up online and not found a great answer to the question. I read that some amps have problems running a Boss GT 8 Effects Processor, or at least don't sound as good as other amps. I'm using a Roland Cube 80x Amp. Does anyone know how the effects board would sound with my amp? Thanks in advance, I know most everyone on this board knows their shit when it comes to equipment!!

Does your amp have an fx loop? If so I highly recommend going for a TC Electronics G Major. They sound incredible and you can find one on craigslist for 150-200.

IMO the GT8 is a great machine.. if your amplifier has a nice clean sound you can get some cool tones.
You perhaps may consider a Pod XT.. it's awesome and now there's the X3 out it cost less than it used to be!
If you plug it straight into the mixer you can get some really cool sounds!

The Axe Fx. (It's about 1,700...but it's amazing.)

:P

I think the GT-8 will sound good through the Roland. I mean, the Roland isn't a super high end amp, so it'll work fine and sound good.

i use a gt 8 which i have set to my own liking, i run it through my laney vc30 2 x12 but through the clean channel(ie distorted gt 8 sound through clean channel), and it sounds awesome, howver when playing live i usually just di the gt8 straight into the desk, if you run it and have bass treble distortion etc also set on the amp then you wil get problems

incidentally all of the effects on it are identical to each individual stomp box, ie digital delay, flanger etc etc, so you can use it as a pedal board too, so long as you like mainly boss effects
