Post Michael Lee Firkins
Does anyone on here listen to Michael Lee Firkins?

I've listened to several clips of him on YouTube so far.

On his self-titled album he's backed up by bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer James Kottak, who later played together in Wild Horses and the McAuley Schenker Group.

Oh, hell yeah! There are a couple of threads that some of us started on him.

I bought his self titled Shrapnel release years ago. ('89?)
A beautiful piece of work.
If you like Steve Morse, you'll like Michael Lee Firkins! :D
I didn't care for his Howling Iguanas project as much, though.

Oh yes! Monster player. 8) Has his own bag entirely. Sod the "ZOMG! he's imitating a slide with a wang bar!", his rhythm stuff is the shizzle.

I still like the first album best, but I'm missing some of the newer ones.

Ah Firkins is such a great talent. Some of the most amazing phrasing and original playing known to man. I love his Debut album and his work with Becker is astonishing as well.

According to what I've read, his self-titled album was released in 1990. This is the album most of clips I listened to were from.

What did YOU think of him so far, Gringo?
Are you gonna get his cd?
I noticed it's on iTunes. That's where I got it, since I can't do too much with a cassette these days.

Mike can play fast & slow with the best of 'em.

I'm planning to get his self-titled CD.

These days, I mostly get CD's when one of my cassettes wears out or breaks.

I've never had MLF's self-titled album on any medium, so this will be an exception.

In my opinion, CD's are an infinitely superior medium to cassettes.
