Post Band audition help!
Hey guys!

I'm auditioning for an 80's rock band but, not for guitar! :o haha!

Here's the audition clip I sent to the band...

http://www.yousendit.com/download/Y1RvT ... TW1Ga1E9PQ

It's just the chorus to a song called Stand Up by Steel Dragon. From the movie Rockstar. All vocals are mine and I just did it through a Shure SM57 over the top of a guitar pro backing track!

I was just wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on my voice please?

Thanks! 8)

Paul

Your voice sounds cool. That track is shite though. Your vocals could be a little more up front in the mix. Almost gets lost under that cheesy MIDI file. Is the band original or covers?

Hey thanks man. Yeah the backing is utter POOP.

I think originals but they'll definitely be some covers in there somewhere!

Those are some great vocals. You got some strength in your voice. 8)

That midi is so distracting, but you're doing a good job there nonetheless. Hope you get the gig.

Thanks guys! :)

I know I'm not exactly Jeff but hopefully I'll get better.

I only started singing the day I recorded that which was 2 days ago so for those circumstances, I don't think it's too bad. :)

Nice.

The best thing about it is you sound like you're enjoying it, most people try too hard and just come across as nervous - you certainly don't.

Good luck with the audition!
