If I could go and buy any amp I wanted I would buy a CARVIN LEGACY! Hands down my fave amp, Shredacuda had one and sold it to Doug Stapp and I was sad to see it go(at least its in good hands). It just had great tone and felt so nice to play through. Shreda just like his Laney better and found his dream guitar.....but if I had the cash it would have been mine...lucky Doug.

Right now I have two choices of amps to buy! These amps are:

Mesa Boogie Roadking Recto: I tried this thing out and it kicked butt! Go to there website and check it out! It's nuts!

Mojave Peacemaker: The best reproduction of the classic Marshall Plexi Hotrodded tone! This thing has classic Van Halen, AC/DC, and any other classic rock/ metal written all over it.

The Mojave is my top choice right now! It is much simplier that the Mesa Boogie. Less to go wrong!

The boogie though can reproduce any classic Boogie tone, including John Sykes tone!! Scary!!!!!!!! I plugged a Les Paul with EMGs into this thing and dialed in as close of a tone that I could to John Sykes, and it was awesome!

The guys in the store to were looking at me wierd when I was cranking out Whitesnakes Still of the Night and Bad Boys! LOL As a matter of fact they thought that I was wierd! LOL They kind of liked Scarified though! None of them have ever heard of Racer X! I gave them the website!

My Recto!! The things kick ass, until recently i was a bit disappointed- after having it for a year i wasnt blown away, then i turned it up. It made such a huge difference past 3!!!

I like Laney too, but im a big Marshall fan, JMP-1 or JCM800 please!!

I dont like modelling amps- i can see the uses, especially for practice, but its not the same!

Mark

Bogner Shiva combo and Ecstacy head. They do it all, and they have their own sound. Plus, nothing smells like a Bogner when the tubes are sizzlin'...love that smell...

er, should have said why!
marshall, it does exactly what it says on the tin!
plus it's a heritage thing(jimi, eddie,yng....)
and guitarists hear with their eyes!
plus I always wanted that marshall wall paper behind me at gigs!

I had a Carvin Legacy and didn't like it at all..

The Clean Channel was amazing.. But the distortion blah... It was very low gain and fuzzy. Not smooth at all! I totally didn't dig the fuzzyness. Basically it sounded like a tube amp on 0 volume. But no matter how loud it was it didn't clear up =\......

You could probably make it scream with tube screamer etc.. but I didn't want to settle for an amp that wasn't decent on it's own... so I got my 1200 bucks back :)

CHAD!! Did you buy the Ecstacy? And did you try the Uberschal out yet?

I don't like the Boogie Dual Recto either. Didn't impress me...

Things i'm looking at right now
Pod Pro and Triaxis :)

I'd like to try a laney Gh100l out too

Yup. And I tried the Uberschal...it's a monster. Too much for me, actually.

I dig the Boogies...I just like to break Xela's balls.

Egnater M4 preamp through a VHT 2/50/2 power amp. It's a monster.

Interestingly....At Journey's show a few weeks ago...I talked to Neil's tech.....He's got this killer Sweet CRYSTAL clear tone. Super loud volume, without ANY distortion at all...pretty amazing. He uses these German amps...Deizel. Also uses some Fender heads.
