Out with the old - in with the new - Band - Racer X time !
So, I kicked the old band into touch on monday...
got in touch with a few other like minded fellas and we are going to do a full on hair metal cover-fest, with a few originals thrown in..
this means I will finally get to play Racer X stuff in a band - whoohooo !
so far the set list contains.
17th moon
Godzilla
and thats it..
so, if you were out in a pub and came across a load of old gits playing racer x and 80's hair metal, what would you want to hear ?
its unlikely that we will do scarified etc, punters dont wanna listed to that stuff normally.
I cant wait !

I'm just trying to think of some earlier songs that might be kind of easy to play live, & fun for the masses to hear.

I love Godzilla but I´ve always been unwilling to cover a cover and I wouldn´t like changing too much the original (both Blue Oyster Cult´s and Racer X´s) to make it sound different. RX´s version is close to the original, great and respectful to it. I like that, but it´s just my opinion

That would be the case if he was playing Slipknot and Necrophagist covers.
But everyone loves the catchy 80's rock tunes like Motley Crue and GnR etc.

Hey man, the Crue and GnR are more metal than both Slipknot and Necrophagist!
And yeah, for the record, do Livin' The Hard Way and Mad At The World!

Haha! No they're not. Both those 80's bands are not "metal" at all.
Rock is the word you're looking for.
