You'll enjoy the RG more in the long run. The PGM301 is a nice looking guitar, but if you're anything like me you'll get sick of the f-holes after a while. I'm seriously considering repainting my PGM30 (no, it's not one of the cheap POS models, mine is the 2003 model with the Edge Pro and Presige neck before anyone makes any comments) because it just isn't me. Nice guitar, though, and I love the control configuration. I got it for 300$ from a friend of mine that, like me, was sick of the f-holes.

Yeah, you're right I suppose.

I'll get the RG, then after I get a job my first priority is a nice PGM, preferably a 500, 800, 200, 301, 401 or 700.

I know :(

I like, live for the F-holes. *Giggles to self about the semi-funny pun*

Does anyone know if shops can still order PGM301s, and how much they'd cost?

Otherwise, I suppose I just won't have the luxury of having the 3rd best PGM ever released.

Of the 22 girls I have slept with, 17 said it was because of the F-holes. Of the 17, 6 of them hadn't even seen my guitar and 3 of them didn't know what a guitar was. They are that good.

T_T

Yeah, I probably won't bother with a 301 unless I can find a used one in Canada in good condition or new one cheap. Shipping and all that would be a bitch load of money.

Anyone know of any good dealers in the Greater Toronto Area?

Since I'm gonna work this year (I dropped out of college just to do it lol) and I want to buy a PGM, I have a question for you guys.

PGM 301 is THE guitar I want to buy (right now I have a shitty Schecter demon-fr which was like 300$ :D) BUT - it's reeeeally rare here in Poland (to say the truth - I live in on of the biggest cities in the country and I haven't seen one in the stores).

I've seen some used PGM 300s on Polish ebay, so my question is - should I go for PGM 300 or PGM 301? Which one is better tone/shred wise?

I don't care for locked bridge much although I found out that I'm not using my floyd anyways so if I bought 300, I'd probably lock the bridge anyways.

My bigges concern is since all the PGM 300s are quite old (one I've seen is like '92) will it be as good as if I bought new/used PGM 301?

I have an old 300 and it is the second best sounding and playing (the 800 being the best).

BTW, is it me or 300 is actually more of a white/cream (ekhm) color comparing to plain white 301?

yeah, I noticed that too.. but it's prolly the fact that the lacquer on it goes yellow with the hitting sunshine, and since it's older than the 301, they are yellower :P

Exactly, the old clear coats yellowed over time. That's why the 200's look green.

My 301 just arrived. Like a kid with a new toy. I wasn't going to pay the money for a reissue and lucked out and found a dealer with a couple in stock. They have one left and you can make an offer.

I just bought one of those off ebay. I got it for $1100. They have it posted for $1399, I offered a grand and he countered with $1199 and I offered $1100 with shipping and he took it.

It's not cheap, but it's fair.
