Sorry, I don't follow that. Is "it" the head or the cabinet? If it's the head, why would I plug an 8-ohm cab into the 4-ohm jack on the head?

Just purchased my first gh100l from Ibanezer. Im really happy right now =)
i got a question though. i have the GH100L Head and the GS412IA Cab. On the back of the cab it says 16ohms, so do i connect it from input to the 1x16 ohms socket ?

Ive been thinking for a while about getting a Marshall Vintage Modern combo, but unfortunatley it would mean selling my Laney VH100R and matching cab. Its in pretty good condition, very few dings. The sticker inside says it was made 1996 IIRC.
The interesting thing about it is the whole thing, amp and cab is in white tolex which Ive never seen before. I tried emailing Laney to ask about rarity but they never got back to me
So anywhay, to the question at hand, how much should I ask for it? If I put it on ebay I dont want to jip myself by not getting as much as its worth.
If if was standard black Id have a pretty good idea to 2nd hand value, but do you guys reckon the white would have an impact on the value?
I sold a Ibanez JS on the 'bay a while ago and started bidding too low and did myself out of £100, so if I can avoid that again I'll be happy!
Thanks guys.
Moved from Guitar forum to here coz Im blind and didnt see the Laney forum!

Hi!
I just got myself a VC100 used and it rocks. It sounds just like Paul! But theres one thorn in my side that is screwing my playing up and thats the goddamn footswitch! I know theres alot of problems with the FS-4 footswitch so maybe you guys have some advice for me? It switches channels on its own and all that. If you got a vc50/100 or a vh100r you probobly know what im saying.
Any suggestions? I really wanna use this amp for gigging but i gotta be able to trust it.

As an update to my earlier post about the white tolex VH100R, I just got an email from a guy at Laney who told me my amp was one of only 4 ever made and were made for, of all things, a Status Quo tribute band!
How mad is that??
Im totally stoked though, one of four in the world is awesome. And to thing I was considering selling it...

What cabs do you recommend to use with the VC50/100?

I had a problem with my VC50 switching channels on its own, I changed all the pre-amp valves and its stopped doing it...
I dont bloody well know what the hell that would have to do with switching but perhaps it does, perhaps it was a coincidence.
I plan to change the footswich anyway, its too small..
I will get a big cast ally box and rewire the switches into that, ditch the reverb switch while im at it too.
it seems fairly unreliable but i got it very secondhand and im still sorting out the problems that came with it.
so, whats the verdict with the cabs ?
I was about to buy an extension cab for it ?

No matter how much Laney's are unreliable for me... I can't help but go back to them, they literally are the best sounding amps I've ever played. The overdrive is sooooo smooth and crystal clear and the clean's are unrivaled IMO.

I have to agree, I am ironing out the issues with my laney VC50 one by one..
I thought I would try a marshall vintage modern stack recently to try and ease my worries about teh amp being so unreliable but the VM stack couldnt hold a candle to the laney be it clean or dirty...
im sticking with the VC and when I have the cash its getting a complete overhaul and new speakers..

I really need some help.
I've narrowed my amp choices down to a couple (you can look at the thread labeled i am leaving my rig decision up to you rxb) of choices.
I don't know the difference between the LC30 and the LC30II
There are a few fantastic youtube vids of the lc30II and my lord it's heavenly. Ill get a link.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soxS5ywrxe8
