So... This two finger chromatic stuff... Could that not just be two notes out of any other scale that happen to be a semi-tone apart?

As for sticking to solos written 20 years ago: find me a recent video of Paul Gilbert playing Scarified the way it's played on the album and I won't ban you. How's that for a deal?

I was sure I'd written a delusion clause into the terms and conditions. I must have forgot

i seen paul gilbert improvise one time alittle on technical difficulties video on youtube, he added some tapping parts

But you dont get alot of videos you see of rich ward playing he totally changed the whole goddamn solo and didnt even play any part of studio cd solo correctly while paul does. and alot of videos i seen the improvised shit was actually less technical maybe because videos i seen he looked fuckin worn the hell out and probley didnt feel like it lol.

Trust me man paul gilbert gave props to rich ward's 2005 fozzy album all that remains he wrote the whole shit.

Hey fix your website its running slow im not a troll im just pointing to rich ward being overall better player than paul gilbert plus alot better tone rich's sounds like a topfuel drag car reving up or some shit.

Seriously who worked harder rich ward only knew basic concepts of a chord from a friend the first guitar he played he was 12 barrowed it and learned from that and then learned by ear all of his favorite bands no lessons.

Or paul gilbert like 5 years old started playing gave up trying to play then picked up guitar again at 9 years old then took lessons probley fuckin years of it, then went to guitar institute git .

what's harder?

There you go paul gilbert cannot play that fast skip to 7 mins and 30 seconds he's hammering on every note all 4 fingers not picking once moving up the guitar neck faster than paul gilbert or shawn lane or buckethead ever done.

Yes, rich ward is faster than shawn lane by far bro.

shawn lane mainly only used 2 or 3 fingers reason why he might of seemed fast, but if you look at video 7 mins 30 seconds seriously his hand moves faster than any shawn lane video not to mention he's hammering on tapping every note with all 4 fingers on 4 fingers i seen the solo played live so i know 3ft away, that shit is hard to do without picking need finger strength to get solid sound.

you cant find me a shawn lane video faster on youtube him using all 4 fingers.

look at his fingers man 7:30 audioquality makes solo sound like crap but it's not that shit is hard trust me paul gilbert or shawn lane would need to pick to get solid sound no finger strength.

Here's the studio track of the concert video i showed you 3:03 in the studio track is the 7 mins and 30 seconds hammering on 4 finger/4 string part no picking part.

shawn lane needs to pick the note he couldnt hammer on with all 4 fingers and move up the guitar neck and get solid sound.

You seem to be pretty hung up on this 4 finger thing. Simple logic (which does seem to allude you) would dictate that getting more notes per second would be harder with less fingers.

Also: it's harder to pick every note than it is to play legato

Faster than this?

Yeah. Of course...

I'd ban you if I didn't find your stupidity so amusing :D

yes, go watch concert video

http://youtube.com/watch?v=9R9okk17P7A

^^ skip the videos time to 7:20 for beggining of the solo then pay attention to his picking hand he's not picking at all then look at his fretboard hand he uses all 4 fingers 1 finger per string hammering on every note no picking at all.

shawn lane couldnt do that paul gilbert cant do that show me a video of them doing that, they need to pick the string they didnt have the strength in their fingers to move that fast and hammer on every note moving up guitar neck .

i will stop talking about rich ok? dont ban me please?

Actually it's easier to pick every note.

legato still has picking rich did no picking.
