The drummer is really good and imaginative! Listen at 3:28. INSANE double bass. There are people who are faster...but this guy being so young. Talented!

not my cup of tea, definitely nowhere near the technical skill of the faster players like KC Howard, Tim Yeung and such.
Technique wise, guys like Bobby Jarzombek and Marco Minneman tear this guy apart.
for instance, heres a relatively recent vid of Tim Yeung and his double bass swivel technique is impeccable in it. ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=vSDOP6OqPnA Song is boring though kinda) If you want absolutely insane drums, check out the band Decrepit Birth, they are surely becoming one of my fav bands and have a new cd coming out relatively soon.
KC Howard is my bet for one of the best young drummers out there today, check him out.

Yeah dude, all those guys would really shame this dude in skill level. I'm glad that unlike guitar playing these days, Drumming has relatively been progressing rather than regressing. I'm just impressed that some guys that are younger than me can play drums on such professional levels.

That's Alex Pelletier, he plays for Despised Icon.
He's ridiculous:

Haha yeah. I've seen him live two or three times and he's flawless. He's the Paul Gilbert of his style Drumming; he never makes mistakes, lol.

Wasn't particularly impressed. But these song's don't leave a lot in the way for drummers to express dynamics through their playing. It's pretty much all one volume. I'd like to see what he does in a variety of styles.

Death metal drummers are always insane I liked Vette's vid the most. That was just sickk!
But honestly, I can't STAND bands like in the first vid. Every song really does sound the same.. I've seen too many local bands that all sound exactly like this. Originality people!

Yeah, I had the misfortune of hearing that band at one of the Summer Slaughter tours with Decapitated and Arsis... we left the concert area and went to the bar during their set.

not really my cup..sure all the guys mentioned in this thread can pound the skins, it´s just that not very musically(except for Minnemann of course, one of my all time favs!). they lack the groove. i always preferred drummers who have got both ridiculous technique & groove (ability to play musically)
