Post Second heat production quality
heres a non-offensive post...
have you ever noticed that if you turn second heat up really loud on your stereo you can hear certain songs underneath others...with some good speakers and some crank on your amplifier you can here the beginning of motorman in the outro of heart of a lion......this post seems confusing because it is. :P

Which version is it? CD? K7? Vinyl? With vinyl it may occur. Try another record and tell us.

well, its a cd version-i mean its not uncommon but its quite noticable at high volumes; if you listen to la villa strangiato on hemispheres by rush the same thing happens-you can hear the old version of the solo underneath the new one. Its just primitive production really

Improper tape handling in the studio. It's called print-through. A classic example is the middle section of Whole Lotta Love by Led Zep:

"Waaaay dooown inside!"

and then, of course, the quiet: "...Inside..."

The two first albums from Racer X has great songs, but I just can't listen to it 'cause it sounds (TO ME) so poor in quality compared to Extreme Volume Live or Getting Heavier. I listened once just because I'm a huge Paul Gilbert fan, but I never did it again.

I'm talking about the "sound quality", 'cause the songs are great, how it's visible in the Snowball of doom DVD, that killer versions of Into The Night, Motorman and Hammer Away (the best of all).

Second Heat sound quality is hurtful to listen to. Street Lethal's production was better than Second Heat IMO.

Too much reverb = diarrhea.

I like Second heat production, but EV1 sounds terrible to me, i can barely listin to it, theres so much crackle noise like its peaking all the time. I thought it may of just been my crappy stereo but it happens on every device i play it on :x
