Post Some 80's guy playing scarified
i found this old school scarified cover in youtube, it's so so; the man playing is some John Connolly guy;he have some good skills. The harmony section of the melody sucks ass, it's played with some sort of keyboard.

anyone knows this guy?

Pretty awesome rendition, interesting to see how he deals with the tapping section and the keyboards helped give it that elevator music feel.

The keyboards sound like an ice cream van...

A pretty rockin' ice cream van at that!

Oh crap, the keboard just ruined it for me... yeck! Aside from that, great playing I think. I also like the lighting in the background too.

Another vid of the same guy ...

I think he posted it himself. He mentions in the comments about how Paul was a big influence.

I gotta give the guy props... As corny as the keyboards sounded I thought he did the song justice no doubt..

What impressed me was how well he copied the guitar solos from the record.. spot on!

Our local ice cream van plays Yesterday by The Beatles... Which is very strange and very cool at the same time. :P

Oh and the other one plays the theme from Popeye the Sailor Man.  :P 8) :D  :?:

John Connolly is a legend in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area. In the late 1980s, I used to check out Shotgun at local Battle of the Band gigs. I learned alot of stuff from watching John perform. In addition- my friend took lessons from him so I would learn cool stuff like arpeggio shapes that John would teach my friend. Keep in mind that this video is probably from 1987/1988...likely from one of the old Copa/Zaxx local metal shows. John still teaches private lessons in Northern Virginia...his chops are jaw-dropping.

PS- I remember Shotgun covering "Into the Night" as well.
