It's in the FAQ :roll::

Q:Who’s Chris Arvan?
A:Chris was a guitar player from Burlingame California who had previously been profiled in Mike Varney’s Spotlight column in Guitar Player Magazine. Chris appears in instructional videos released by Backstage Pass prior to the demise of Racer X (Bruce, John, and Scott each had a video). It is not clear what Chris did after Racer X broke up and his current whereabouts are unknown.

This is from Bruce's instructional video that I posted on the Racer X site. Paul had left Racer X to play in Mr. Big and Chris Arvan was recruited to join Racer X. Go to the Racerxband site and I have an interview with Chris that explains most of it.

I guess, however, that you where also joking, but just in case.

I looked Chris Arvan up on Wikipedia and this was all I found...

"John Alderete, Bruce Bouillet, and Scott Travis initially brought in Guitar Spotlight player Chris Arvan as a replacement and performed a few shows – one with Oni Logan from Lynch Mob – but the dissolution of Racer X was imminent, and soon, the members of the band went separate ways. Racer X's hiatus carried on well into the late 1990s."

Ffs guys, Racer X is SO much more than Scarified and Technical Difficulties  It's like those two songs have become mainstream in the guitarworld again, yet noone knows the REALLY good RX songs.

+1

Scarified is been played SO MANY TIMES, that every time I'm listening to Second Heat, I skip the song!

Technical Difficulties is another song that I skip too....maybe because I've played that a lot too...

now...I'm not saying that they're bad songs...but having Paul play Scarified, and putting it on every single live album....hell it gets annoying...I'd rather see a live performance of King of The Monsters!

Does your copy of Extreme Volume (I or II) have Scarified as a hidden bonus track or something??? WTF are you talking about?

well..not EVERY EVERY....but what I wanted to say, is that we always see Paul playing Scarified...and we look for bootlegs...and there it is...Scarified...I just think that there are better RX songs than Scarified...although Scarified kicks ass...

as I said, I don't dislike the song, I just wanted to see some other instrumental tunes on albums and bootlegs...

don't get me on a wrong way, Surg

Well it IS the most popular Racer X song out there. Not only is it played all the time, but it's also featured as a lesson almost everywhere. I'm a bit tired of the song myself. I'd much rather see Scit Scat Wah or maybe King of the Monsters. But I guess Paul's just giving the fans what they want..

What you guys have to realize is that at any given show that Paul does, the majority of the audience is probably seeing Paul live for the first time (unless the show is in L.A). Many have been dying to see Scarified played live and this may be their only chance ... how would they feel if Paul skipped it? And many in the audience may not be familiar with all of Paul's career (especially in a situation like G3) and hearing Scarified may be their first exposure to glory that is Racer X.

Some long time fans may be a little oversaturated with Scarified, but Paul has to try and please all his fans and attract new ones. It's really not that hard to understand why Scarified is permanent fixture in Paul's setlist. If you go see Kiss ... you know you're going to hear Rock N Roll All Nite. If you go see the Rolling Stones ... you know you're going to hear Satisfaction.

I agree with almost everyone here... for me LISTENING to Scarified and SEEING!!! Scarified are completely different. When I saw Scarified played live with Bruce, it was one of the best experiences of my life. But if i'm in a Racer X mood (24/7!!! haha) I skip Scarified, along with YRO, and King of the Monsters... but when i'm in my GUITAR SHREDDDD mood I listen to every instrumental all the way through. I think the only instrumental I never skip is Scit Scat Wah.

Surg is 100% right with Scarified being a staple in his live set.

I dare any of you to honestly say you're so tired of Scarified that you wouldn't want to see Paul play it live.
