It does not really matter either it's playable or not.. At least to me. lol

Post yes...
I am no longer a Fender bass endorser. I have switched to www.lakland.com .

I am not only selling the Ibanez bass, fixed up, but all of my Fenders that I have played over the years in Racer X, Distortion Felix and The Mars Volta.

First up is my 1973 Fender Precision that I played on Getting Heavier and 2 Mars Volta records.

I hope you enjoy bidding on them!

A portion of the proceeds will go to the MPD Foundation.

Juan

oh and lastly...any chance of selling that baddass signature bass prototype? or are you gonna keep that one.

Post Re: yes...
This is actually huge news for me. I started playing Fender Jazz basses because of John Alderete.

I will say, though, that Lakland has always been in my mind as a quality bass company. I was shopping around for another bass, and although I decided on a Fender '75 Reissue Jazz bass, I had also considered some Lakland models. Keith Horne played a five-string Lakland, and I thought his basses sounded excellent. One day, I'll go after one, but the Fenders are serving me just fine at the moment (especially given my long term of inactivity, I don't need any more gear collecting dust).

It's going to be hard to separate the visual of John Alderete playing a Fender bass. In almost every picture and video from the Racer X catalog, he's either got a Precision or a Jazz in his hands.
