 Racer X Album Pressings
Hey guys being the huge Racer X/PG fan that I am I always want to add to my collection anything I can. Right now (as far as I know) to own everything Racer X released all I need is a casette version of Second Heat and Vinyl of EVII (If they exist). But i'm pretty sure i'm wrong... so that's why I made this thread. Anyway here's what I know of so far...
1986: Street Lethal
-Cd
-Vinyl
-Casette
1987: Second Heat
-Cd
-Vinyl
-Casette
1988: Extreme Volume I
-Cd
-Vinyl
-Casette
1992: Extreme Volume II
-Cd
-Vinyl (???)
-Casette
From this point on is when I have no clue, I only own cds)
1999: Technical Difficulties
-CD
(??)
2000: Superheroes
-CD
(??)
2002: Snowball Of Doom
-CD
(??)
2002: Getting Heavier
-CD
(??)
2004: Snowball of Doom II
-CD
(??)
2006: Snowball Of Doom (DVD)
-DVD
I just wanted to know if there was any vinyl or cassette pressings for any of the later albums and wanted to make sure if there has been any secret japanese singles or anything that the rest of the world missed out on.
Thanks!

Whoa, you own ALL of that!?!?!?!?!?!
Crap...
...
Ahem...
...
A while ago I asked about some Mr. Big CD's and whether any were released on Vinyl. I don't ever think there was an answer, but maybe you can e-mail the Racer X store (if there is one) and ask them. Otherwise if you're friends with Mike Varney you can always give him a call.
Yeah, i'm not sure, but I can garantee you there is definately a cassete version. I'm positive!
Good Luck in finding it!

I'm pretty sure none of the newer albums are on vinyl...I rather doubt cassettes were even considered either. And there isn't a DVD of Snowball of Doom II, however, there is footage of that concert's PG solo on his GOOMY DVD (is it THAT concert's solo?)

Doesn't it say Paul was in Japan on that solo? I thought SOD2 was in LA.
I could be wrong but I don't have the DVD with me to check.

SOD was in L.A.
The SOD ll show(s) was done in Japan with full Superhero gear on... The Official Bootleg was released with the initial copies of Getting Heavier...

I did not want to open a new topic as I hope someone could help me here with a question which is partly linked to this topic:
When was Second Heat released?
1. Here, BeckerX put 1987
2. The site says February 11th 1988
- The site also says Extreme Volume I: January 1st 1988 (?!)
3. The back of the CD says "© 1986 Shrapnel Records"
- "Recorded November & December 1986"
My guess would be 1987 as I believe that "Recorded November & December 1986" part is true and it usually takes some time from that point to releasing the actual record, but hey, it is Shrapnel, so anything could be possible.
In the words of the almighty Loudness, WHAT'S THE TRUTH?

Well, I also read this:
http://www.racerxband.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=10479
Quote: This is the original version posted on Wikipedia. All personal stories and quotes were obtained through hours of interviewing of the band members. This version, has since been revised and "cleaned", to the point where there are many historical errors. Therefore, I no longer recommend reading the Wikipedia version, due to these errors. Scroll down: Quote: Second Heat was released in February of 1988.
That is also on the web site (which I mentioned in my previous post).
But, I thought it was obvious why I was asking this:
1) Was it really a year long delay between recording and releasing? That is not the "Shrapnel Way" of doing things, at least it is weird to me.
2) Was Extreme Volume I really released on January 1st 1988 (which would mean before Second Heat)?

It´s strange, to say the least.
It must have been released in 87.

2nd Heat in 1988 was a typo....I asked Jeff, and he was nearly certain it was Feb 1987. He said we recorded it in Dec 1986.
