Cool stuff, I'll have to update the first post oneday. I intentionally left out the Mr. Big singles because they're not different songs, it's the same thing just put out for the public to buy on it's own instead of the whole album so it seemed a bit pointless to me.

QUESTION 1!!!

This 1991 TRIBUTE TO JIMI HENDRIX thing...there's an audio EP of it and a video version of it but the audio is alot cleaner, as in, there's no audience cheers and everything is much louder and it's been mixed etc.

My question is, is it the same gig and it was recorded via the soundboard and mixed afterwards..or did he re-record it in the studio and it sounds similar because he's so amazing??

QUESTION 2!!!

Back in the old days of Racer X, Jeff Martin referred to Live Extreme Volume as "the 3rd album" on live bootlegs around 87/88.

I heard him say something like "we jsut got done recording the 3rd album" in 1987 but LEV was apparantly recorded in 1989. Was it recorded in 1987 and released in 1989? Or was it really recorded in 1989 and Jeff was maybe mentioning a rough demo album that they didn't release or something?

It's been confusing me for a few days now.

It's been my understanding from a conversation with Bruce and John MANY, MANY years ago, that there was material recorded for a third album that never got released, some of which included "Fire Of Rock", "Mad At The World", "Poison Eyes", etc... Perhaps that's what JM's referring to...

Btw, LEV2 was released waaaay after the actual shows....

The shows that were recorded and used on EV1 and EV2 were on January 10 and 11, 1988.

As I understand it, a third studio record was in the works (as Xela indicated above). No demos or completed tracks have ever surfaced to my knowledge, so it is unclear how far in the recording process things went. But I believe they decided to hold back the new material in hopes of using it when they got signed to a major label and released EV1 instead to fulfill their 3 album contract with Shrapnel. Perhaps Ken can ask Jeff to clarify.

One can guess that the third studio album would have had the following track listing ...

She Wants Control
Poison Eyes
Set The World On Fire
Give It To Me
Mad At The World
Scit Scat Wah
Fire Of Rock
Miss Mistreater

and maybe She's A Robot.

That would have been a totally sick album. Some of those songs are seriously killer.

They might have even stuck a cover on there like they did on Second Heat. Maybe Cold Gin, Detroit Rock City, Baba O Riley or Train Kept A Rollin' or something.

I watched them play Baba O Riley at the Omni the other night and it's actually a really cool song.

He did a song with Chris Jericho (WWE wrestler, Fozzy) not long ago. I can't remember the track or album though.

Maybe someone could ask him?

Wow awesome. I used to watch WWF and I'd see ads with Jericho in posing as a rock star, I didn't realise at the time that he was actually in a rock/metal band.
