To change sounds during a live set with your foot instead of pressing the buttons on the front of the amp itself.

It's not that you need it, it's that you want it
Nobody needs to have rack gear.

You mean the settings from Paul's amps or rack effects?
You should really try and use your own otherwise, with rack gear you'll end up sounding exactly like Paul.

His PGM's only have one knob. Turn the volume knob till you get the tone you want.

Ok, simple enough. I usually keep it all the way up.

Does anyone KNOW the answer to this?
What gauge of string did Paul use on Second Heat and live etc when he was tuned to Eb?
I'm guessing 9's in E but I'm not sure whether he keeps the 9's for Eb or switches to 10's to make up the tension.

As a GUESS I'd say you're probably right with 9's.

I agree! its REALLY hard to make a new setup =D haha with features and manuals and stuff... you sitt there with manuals upp to your head just to increse the amount of chorus or something =D...
But they sound nice

Yes, just plug your guitar into the mp1, then out the back of the MP1 and into the return jack of your effects loop.
All the FX loop is, is a gap between the preamp section and power amp section of your amplifier.

he used that for the GOOMY DVD shoot @ MI a couple months back.
also, he had a THD hot plate for something. it was a purple or blue model.
he had several Laney GH100 stack and a small VC30 combo i believe.
i'm suprised at the settings on his amps...it just doesn't seem like enough, but then you hear it and it sounds f**king HUGE!!

just got back from G3. paul and bruce both used laney 2x12 combos+single 2x12 cabs for their set. anyone know what the model the laney combo was? it sounded great. for the jam, paul used a GH100L and 2-2x12's...loud and great.
the combo could have possibly been a vc30 212, but the knobs were on the front, not the top. from pics i found online, it was probably a VC50, but i couldnt find that one on the laney website

The combos I have seen Paul and Bruce use this year were VC50's.
