^^This guitar amazes me, how is it possible that no one on this board knew about it until now?

So your guitar doesn't have the label that you can see through the sound hole in this picture? --Jason

No kidding. I remember him posting a picture of it a while back too. --Jason

This is interesting. Is it a proto? End of production? or?

Looks like we have another PGM mystery on our hands.

This is very interesting. I guess its time to start scouring the net for PGA pics.

It's got me stumped. I've looked all over the net, and every one I found has 22 frets. Maybe it's a spot production model? If it was a prototype, I wouldn't have thought it would have a regular production "S8" serial number. Another mystery for sure. --Jason

I sincerely doubt it. Why would someone fake that particular model when there are easier ones to fake that would also sell better?

If I were you, I'd get back in touch with the guy (I think he was a board member too.) you bought it from and find out everything you can about where he got it. It may take some time and effort, but maybe you can document whether it is a prototype, spot production, or whatever. --Jason

Hey,

Doesn't the PGM800 have a Tone Zone in the bridge and a Humbucker from hell in the neck?

No that is what the 500 came with. The 800 has 2 tone zones

Hey Jason!

Is it ok if I put the information and pictures from the original post on my Paul Gilbert website?

www.thepgsite.piczo.com

I'm giving it a makeover!

All credit will of course go to you!

Thanx

Paul

Tie with Vai?? Do you even know who Vai is??

He has like 3 new UV/JEM models every year... along with his 15,16,17,18,18 1/2, 19, 20, etc. anniversary models. Paul does have tons of guitars that were made for him, but not for us. :(
