I'm a UK guitarist. Not in a band either, I don't know anyone that's into what I am and I don't know any decent drummers and I haven't gone out searching.
I wouldn't be able to satisfy myself in a band either.

There are loads of guitarist on here from the UK.
I'd be up for it if my ear could get fixed (I'm having an operation in January.) Plus I'm probably nowhere near you guys.
Where in the UK are you from?

Paul joined Racer X at 15. By 18, he was already teaching at GIT...
...I think.

I'm in Manchester. Again, nowhere near you, lol. I'd love to get into a band, but like I say, my ear is screwed although hopefully it'll get fixed.
I don't know of anyone that'd play Gilbert-style stuff around here anyway.

I'm only down the road from you in Colchester but i already have a second guitar player. Are you any good on Bass?
I have to agree on the Drummer thing. Most of the Drummer's around this way are pathetic at best.

He was discovered by Mike Varney when he was 15 Still, an easy mistake to make!

Yeah sorry, he sent a demo of his band at 15, but that band wasn't Racer X. He formed Racer X after he joined GIT because that's where he met the guys...duh!! lol
There's been so much confusion for me about Paul's age at certain times back then. I didn't know he was 19 when he recorded Street Lethal.

My band are currently looking for a 2nd lead guitarist. We have plenty of Racer X covers in our repertoire, but if we're gonna start playing this stuff in its true form live we're gonna need another 2nd player.
Ipswich is in the other direction from us though...

I just read this thread thinking it was about the school in London only to realise that I've already posted in it.
One of the teachers at my college was telling me about a thing in London called Guitar X and I've been thinking of going but I'm not sure how I'd cope with paying for that, travel or rooms etc and all the food and guitar parts I'd need etc. The only thing I can do to improve though is to practise loads so I might just go back to the college I went to and do a 3 year degree course instead.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Guitar school is tempting but it requires lots of cash.

I looked into going to GIT but it turns out it could cost around 20-30K!
I would love to go!
But, there's no way I could afford that amount of money!
