Post Been to the Thomas Lang Drumclinic
Hey guys,

I've been to the Thomas Lang Clinic yesterday and it was awesome!

As you probably all know his drumming is unbelievable, he can do stuff you'd normally need two drummers for.

The clinic started off with some drumsongs with playback, then a loooooong (longest ever) drumsolo, then a Q&A part, then one last song.
The Q&A part was relly funny, especially cause of the many funny comments by the crowd.

Ok, here's the intresting part of this post:
During the Q&A section one guy requested the one handed roll (see Mike Mangini Vid) and Thomas explained that there is a trick to do that:

1) You hold the stick flat
2) Hit the drumhead with the tip
3) Then you move your hand even more downwards (till the stick touches the rim), the tip moves up (cause of the stick touching the rim and the downward motion of the hand)
4) Then you move your hand upwards, the tip of the stick hits the drumhead again
5) start over

So the Mike Mangini thing isn't that impossible

Thomas is an awsome chopsmeister. The one handed roll isnt that hard to grasp once you see it in action. Its being able to sustain it thats tough. Johnny Rabb is freak with that technique too.
