Post Racer X Live @ The Roxy
I just got a copy of this DVD this weekend... WOW what a find!!!
It's camera shot from the front of the stage so its very "up close and personnal"... It looks like it was right when Bruce joined... They hadn't released "Second Heat" yet, Scott doesn't have his cage set up yet, and PG and Bruce are only playing through a couple of marshall cabs (not the wall of pink and green or orange cabs yet...)... During the show Jeff mentions that the band will be celebrating Scott and John's birthdays after the show at The Rainbow...

Has anyone seen this show yet???

There's a place out here in Southern California called "Frank & Son's" Warehouse... It's a warehouse open to the public where vendors and traders of all kinds of collectibles (music, sports, video games, etc...)gather to do business... There's a guy there that has a lot of hard to find concerts and old movies...

This place is a GOLDMINE !!!

Yup, Bruce plays the green Tele with a pointed headstock and PG plays his pink Epi throughout the whole show... The whole set is all off of "Street Lethal" except for "Moonage Daydream" and the Surgical Steel tune "To The Bitter End"... KILLER stuff...

speaking of those epihpone ghuitars, ive wondered about this

Quote:
Q:Where are the famous Pink and Green custom made Ibanez Epiphone Paul and Bruce played?

does that mean ibanez made epiphone? i thought epiphone was a spinoff of gibson.

No it does not mean Ibanez made Epi's. I believe Gibson bought Epi back in the 60's. Epi is not a spin off, they were an independent company making quality hollowbodies that was bought by Gibson.

Paul wasn't always endorsed by Ibanez. There are pictures of him playing epi's and BC Rich guitars before he started endorsing Ibanez.

thjats interesting.
Well, then what exactly does it mean by "ibanez epiphone"?
but it seems like epiphone is a gibson spin off at this moment, as they are making cheaper versions of gibson guitars, like squier makes cheaper version of fender guitars.

The Ibanez "epiphone" was a custom made guitar that Ibanez made for Paul (and Bruce) that was based on Paul's original Epiphone guitar (the one Paul is pictured with on the back of Second Heat).

Rookies. I guess it's hard to believe that not everyone was around for the first wave of Racer X.

I know what you mean. How many of us heard them through those floppy records in Guitar Player and ordered the albums from Shrapnel?

:D
