 PGM300 or PGM301
Basically, Trem, or no trem, is what I am asking...

i'd personally get the 301 as i've got many trem guitars and only 1 non trem (PGM10th) which i don't want to gig with in fear of damaging it

I would go with no trem. Personally I prefer hardtails. The only guitar I have with a trem is a PGM30 with an RG neck and I keep the trem blocked.
I have seen some 300's sell for good prices in Japan. If a good deal came along I wouldn't pass on a 300.

Are we talking Lo Pro Edge equiped 300's, or edge poor 300's? No matter I guess, I'd still take the 301. --Jason

My opinion is a little bias on this because i have the 301 but every now and then, when i play a bit of Vai, i think...mmmm.....maybe this would sound good with Trem

Features, and also, looks.
Dont you think the trem 'looks' better also?

If you prefer a trem and want a PGM track down a 100, 300, or 30. You could also look for a 400 but that has a strat style trem not a floyd.
I think PGM's look good with trems and hardtails. I prefer playing hardtails though. For the stuff I play I don't really need a trem.
It seems to me you would prefer a trem. So I would look for one of the models I listed above.

I'd prefer the pgm 300, but I have to admit that the trem looks really out of place on the pgm 300, but functionality over looks.

I think guitars look better with as little Metal on them as possible

I've never played a PGM3 so I don't really know how it stacks up to other PGM's.
If you are interested I am willing to part with my 30 with an RG neck. It was supposed to be a project guitar, but I never get around to working on it, and it never gets played. The body has the stock pickups and the Lo TRS II trem. I'd be willing to sell the body alone as well, I have another project body that could use a neck.

What kind of finishes do the PGM300/301's have?
Are they stained? clear coated?
Do they have any kind of coating to prevent the black/brown disgusting stuff from sinking into the wood?
ewwwww
thanks..
