Does this VC-30 112 have 2 channels, Iguess not, but this LC-30 II 112 has two channels.

and I guess furthermore the sound of these amps is nearly the same.

If you like it, get it. I have never in my life known of anybody to be disapointed with a Laney.

I have had a GH and LC series and both had quality sounds that i cant reproduce on my Rectifier.

Welcome to the board buddy and just remember:

FUCK MARSHALL!
FUCK CARVIN!
FUCK MESA! (hang on thats what i use...haha)
FUCK PEAVEY!
FUCK RANDALL!

ALL HAIL LANEY!

I think i might get another one myself :D

Hi guys,
I know this isn't as high end as the GH series, but i bought a Laney TF 200 for £120 from cash converters (kind of pawn shop in uk) today. It didn't have a footswitch and i was wondering if anyone knew which laney footswitch would suit it. It has 2 channels, with 2 types of gain on one channel that i would like to change between using a footswitch. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Phone Laney and they will tell you. When i got the GH it dident come with a Footswitch but there was a Laney dealer in Colchester. Because the GH only needs one Switch i just got the one with one on but there was a whole selection there with up to 4 switches on

You can actually buy any standard footwitch that has a 1/4 jack. It should work, I bought a tiny pedal off of ebay for like 10 bucks and it worked fine.

Thats what i thought because the one i got was just basically a on/off Swich. It dident even have any writing on it. Instead it came with Stickers. A Main Laney one and load of others like 'Boost' and 'Drive' you can stick on it

I owned an LC50 for about 2 years. It sounded better than a Marshall Combo of the same Price, easy. The sound is really warm and it has a GOOD Reverb on it that actually sounds good on Solos, unlike the Reverb on the Marshall Combo which i owned before. Obviously its not as good as the GH but its as close as your gonna get for the Price and you can easily gig with it. I have never heard a bad Laney and all there Amps are half the Price they should be :D

EDIT: One more thing. The LC Combo's are built like Tanks. You could chuck one out of a Plane and it would probably survive

I think the main difference between the LC and VC series is that the LC series features a little more gain than the VC series, while the VC features a better clean channel. So it depends which one you really want, personally I will get the LC30 :D

Hey everyone.
I just recieved my new GH100L today and I love it to pieces already! :D .

It can do wicked cleans and rock tones.

I have a question though, will I need a distortion pedal to get decent high gain/metal tones from it?
Or will I just need to crank it?
I'll be able to crank it later today when I take it practice though.

Just Crank it. If you keep the Treble back at about half way and make up for it with the Presence and Drive you will get the Racer X Sound (although i was doing this with a PGM). Dont expect the Compressed Crunchie Distortion you would get from a Mesa. Its not that sort of Amp, infact for Playing things like Vai, Satch and obviously Gilbert, its a better Distortion. Sometimes the Distortion on things like Mesa's and Marshalls can be too Liquid and Sterile.

The Laney has fat Tone

I miss it so much

has anybody got a tissue

Thanks for the advice dimentor.
Appreciate it.
Can't wait to take it to practice now!
That Racer X tone is exactly the type of tone I'm going for.
Not the actuall Racer X tone but the same kind of style tone.

okay... i know paul gilbert uses a DS-1 to give a slight volume boost for solos as the GH series are single chanel....

...however when i try this with my DS-1 and GH50L it just goes crappy and doesn't get much louder

any help would be much appreciated! ^_________^
