I'll repost my questions because I think they were accidentally looked over :)

Does anybody know the price of a GH50L new?

What is the difference between the GS412IA and GS412IS cabs? I know they are both made for the GH50L and GH100L but what is the difference between them. Lastly, what are the prices of these cabs new?

Presuming you live in the UK, prices are -

GH50L - £399

IA/S - £299
LA/S - £309
PA/S - £349

Not sure on the differences, check the Laney website.

What? What is the IA/S, LA/S and PA/S? I don't know what cabinets you mean by those 3, plus I only asked about 2 cabs.

I found out the 399 UK currency is in Canadian for the GH50L, its about $877.00 which isn't bad.

You will probably find it won't cost $877.00, our economy is very different. Chances are it will be cheaper than that over there.

I did a little search, and I found a second hand GH50L in Canada on a site -

http://www.adpost.com/ca/musical_instruments/899/

I can't do everything for you, you're going to have to search for some Music shops in Canada who stock Laney.

As far as the cabs go, it just takes some logical thinking, the differences are -

IA = Angled
IS = Straight

Thanks a lot dragonforcedotcom and yeah I don't expect anybody to do this stuff for me. I'm just trying to find information out at the moment, I'm not planning to buy one just as of yet. I know I'm going to buy a GH50L, I just don't have the need for on yet, and once I do, I'll just hunt one down. I like to get all the research out of the way and fully decide on what I want first though.

Thanks for your trouble though.

Oh, one last thing, I looked on the laney website to try and find a difference between the GS412IA and GS412IS, and the descriptions are like exact! Pretty much word for word. So I'm guessing that the only difference is the look, or maybe the fact that one is angled andt he other is straight plays a small difference and that's why they have 2 models.

Well, of course, the angled leaves enough room for you to fit a head on top, and the straight is so you can fit an angled on top of it, making a full stack.

There is a sonic difference between the two, even with identical speakers and wiring. The angled cab will have slightly less internal volume, and its angled interior shape will have fewer places where standing waves can form. This gives the angled cab slightly less low-end response than an otherwise-identical straight cab.

(At participating stores. Your mileage may vary. See dealer for details. Results not typical. Not to be taken internally. Keep away from children. Do not operate heavy equipment or motor vehicles while under the effects of this product. Dentist-recommended. Void where prohibited.)

I really liked that sound you got at the intro there. It sounded so deep and thick! Very cool!

Just a random question: do any of you have one of the oldschool ADA preamps?

I switch between my ADA MP-1 and my GH50 regularly for different sounds, and use the poweramp section of the GH50... I mostly use the ADA for instant clean sounds too; great stuff :)

Anyway, I was just wondering, I know I love my ADA 8)

I have an ADA, I used to use it through the power section of my GH100. I use the Laney with a pedalboard now, it sounds way better, and way more natural.

I have an 80's Laney Pro Tube Lead AOR 100 watt head. Its ugly as hell, its got white-out all over the front panel where the stupid prat who owned it before me marked up his settings. It looks fine now that ive scraped that off.

I got it at Guitar Center for $350. I traded my Peavey Classic 30 for it two months ago.

The Classic 30 was a good amp, and It was my first real amp. I had some good times with it. I kinda miss it, but the Laney burns it up so bad Its hard to miss it when your playing the Laney. The Laney has a beautiful overdrive, that is very very bright and clean, PERFECT .. . in my opinion. Its so clear, its sometimes hard to realize that its overdriven, it just sounds like a clean amp with lots of sustain.

I dont regret the trade at all. Im happy, because In the end, I got the better, more versitle amp.

Hello I´m already having a GH100L I´m very happy with it regarding tone, sound, reliability. But I´m totally unsatisfied by the heavy weight of the amp.
It is unpossible to get around with it without having a reasonable big car.

For this reason I´m eager to get a Laney Combo.

these two amps are possible :

1. VC-30

2. LC30 II

Who knows these amps what would you prefer?
