I don't know if I should let my little secret about Mae Guitars out or not, since I'm hoping that they will have something cool sometime. But, here goes anyway:
When you email them, tell them that you are very interested in PGMS (or Jems or JSs or whatever), and that you'd like to know whenever the get more in.
Because I did that early last year I think I got on some kind of mailing list. Then last November I got an email for a private auction they were having, they had a PGM100 and a PGM500 available. Basically, they tell you the lowest they'll go, and you send them an offer. Then, they sell it to the best offer. I got my PGM100 for $625 (plus the $80 to ship to the US), and other than the bridge had been replaced by a black Edge (and I happened to have a minty cosmo spare ), it was in awesome shape! I actually got a private auction email with that PGM400 last month or maybe 6 weeks ago, but the starting bid was more than I had at the time, having just bought 2 anniversary Les Pauls.
Anyway, so now I've ruined it for myself, but hopefully someone else will get themselves a nice PGM or whatever by doing the same thing.
Dave

Oh, and let me add that this was as smooth of a transaction as you could ask for. They were very courteous and helpful. The only thing is that they don't take credit cards directly, so I had to go through escrow.com - which is a whole different story.
I had a Paypal debit card that the only place I've used it other than the Post Office and grocery store was escrow.com, and I had some attempted activity on it about 1 month after I did this sale. So, long story short, I don't think I will trust them anymore, and I'll just do an international money order or wire transfer next time I buy form Mae.

I'd be all over the 400 if I didn't just buy the 500 from them.
I'm sure i'll be perfectly happy with the 500 though. I've wanted one for a long time.

The PGM400's sure don't pop up very often. You gonna pull the trigger on that one Eddie? --Jason
