Somebody over there is gonna be lucky!
I'm wondering why people keep on buying good guitars and then they sell them... Do they think that sort of guitars make sounds without being played?

Neck joint crack....not good....hard to tell how deep it goes.
It is a 30 not a 300, so the price it is at right now is about right, if not a little high being that it has the cracks.
I used to think Paul's sig added a lot more value until I realized each of mine are signed.

If that dodn't have the crack, it would be mine :(

How much do PGM's go for new over there, anyway? (the 300s/301s)

As always, depends on condition.

300's - 700+
301's - 900+

Hardly see the 301's, maybe still too new

Couldn't that crack just be a crack in the paint and not the wood, or is that highly unlikey?

Whoa... A new 300 over here would be the equivilent of $1200 to $1300

Potnoodleking... looking at the picture: I think it's likley to be quite far through the wood. They'd probably call it a scratch if it was just int he paint, too :)

OH! Wait a minute!
I meant used prices.
New, we can only get the 301 and it is about $1100.

Neck joint cracks are common but not in the place that is shown. Actually, you'll notice a small crack on the corner of the neck pocket....that is the common one.

the list price on PGM 301's over here is about £1000, i've seen them advertised in a couple of guitar mags. I think that equates to about $1500. I'm sure you could pick one up cheaper anyway.

Why do the neck joints crack so often on Ibanez guitars, anyone have any input?

Common on Ibanez (and other brand) guitars with the old neck joint (aka strat 4-bolt heel) is a surface crack in the paint that appears at the neck joint as shown in the photos. The crack begins at the angle of the pocket and can extend and spider a fraction of an inch up to an inch or more. These are pretty much "normal" and something that is not unexpected. This is partially a problem with the paint, which is not given sufficient time to cure as it adheres to a high-stress area of wood. The only concern is a deep crack from damage that is not just from the paint, but through the body wood. Removal of the neck and examining the raw, unpainted wood in the pocket would eliminate any guess work as to possible damage.

Thats off of Jemsite, heres the link

You know, looking at that crack, it's almost as if someone tightened the bolt incredibly tight (lol, we in the aircraft mx field call it hambo tight!) on the neck!!!! Either that or that poor axe was mistreated and thrown or stepped on to cause a crack like that!!
