Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis play in another band before Judas Priest? if so what was the name of it. I think it was called Razor something? Later Droogies

They're very talented...I'm a fan of Paul Gilbert's guitar playing. The stuff from the 80s is kinda cheese metal, with insane shred. The stuff from nowadays is kinda cheesy, with a more hard rock feel, and clean vocals from Graham Bonnet I think.

Yeah Scott is a great drummer. I saw him live on the '91 Painkiller tour with Judas Priest here in NY during the Operation: Rock N Roll concert bill with Alice Cooper, Dangerous Toys, Motorhead and Metal Church. It was a great show.

I have the Racer X: Exreme Live Vol. 2 CD released in 1992. That CD is awesome. It also has them playing a few covers as well.

Track List:

Hammer Away
Poison Eyes
Heart Of A Lion [Judas Priest cover]
Moonage Daydream [Davie Bowie cover]
Sunlight Nights
Give It To Me
On The Loose
Rock It
Detroit Rock City [KISS cover]

If you want to find out where to get a musician/artist or bands whole music discography, just go to the All Music Guide online...here's the URL.

http://www.allmusic.com

Hope that helps.

Very kick-ass drummer and a cool dude to boot. He played at a local show with a local guitar player two summers back and we got to hang out with him between sets.

Hell yea man, I saw Fight back in 94. Holy shit, that was a great band. Wish they would have been around longer than their short lived career.

I wonder what the other guys are doing these days? I heard something about Brian Tilse palying with someone, but forgot who it was.

War Of Words is an awesome album. I even like their "Into the Pit" song better than Testaments (not the same song btw).

Scott's best work with Racer X can be found on the AMAZING metal albums "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES" which features a totally awesome cover of Sabbath's classic "Children Of The Grave", and the other album is "SUPERHEROES" which features some hilarious lyrics on "Evil Joe" and the best ever cover of the B.O.C. classic "GODZILLA".

Side Note: Graham Bonnet does not and never did sing with Racer X. The only singer with this band is/was Jeff Martin (also Paul Gilbert's solo band's drummer).

That's pretty cool! Racer X on the Megadeth boards... maybe Dave Mustaine will peer into the thread?

Yeah, there's been a bit of Racer X mention there before. Whenever I see a thread (didnt see this one though), I usually go in and recommend some stuff.

This is a pretty interesting fact- Dave Mustaine of Megadeth listed Racer X' "Second Heat" as one of his favorite albums in an very old issue of "Guitar for the Practicing Musician." (Racer X' "Second Heat" was listed a couple of times if I remember correctly)

Whoops! I posed that last one twice. (Feel free to delete the first one Mr. Webmaster!) The guy in the Megadeth forum asked about Scott Travis' previous bands- According to Paul, Scott Travis played drums with Doug Marks' band HAWK before joing Racer X. (Doug Marks is the "Metal Method" guy.) Paul apparently saw a HAWK show in Los Angeles somewhere and was impressed enough to go on a "head-hunting" mission to get Scott to join Racer X. (The head-hunting mission was obviously a success!) Scott is a legend of sorts in Virginia since he comes from the Virginia Beach area. In fact- I think he still lives here.

Man, that chat was hilarious.

My friends know that I know a lot about music (compared to them), so they ask me a lot of silly questions and I always remember the movie Hot Shots (part one) and the scene when the wife of that clumsy guy tries to get him to sign his life insurance before a flight and he responds (something like this, I cannot remember the exact quote):
"I'm in a plane, what could possibly happen to me?"

In this case it is:
"I'm on the internet, what could possibly happen to me?"

P.S. I still promise to use the search button, I am on the page 6 of Racer X Discussion.

I see no problem resurrecting some threads....I just wish when you resurrect it, you immediately mention you've resurrected an old thread.

Sorry...I don't see how someone reading old posts and commenting is a troll....as LONG as the new comment adds value. So, just saying WOW this was funny? Isn't adding value.

So my comment is for the resurrect and the non-resurrect people.
