Double stopping is playing a riff or lick using two notes at a time, rather than a single note at a time.

Trying to think of an example, SuperHeroes has a little bit during the main riff.

I don't know if this will look right but...

E----------------------------------
B----------------------------------
G-----7--------9-----10~-9-7-9-7~
D-----7--------9-----10~-9-7-9-7~
A----------------------------------
E--7-----7--7-----7----------------

---T---I--T-T--R--T--P~--R-I-R-I <---(fingers used)

Anytime you play two notes like you'd play a single note, in a riff or in a lick, it's double-stopping.

Im pretty sure a double stop is when you take one string and hit the unbended note then bend and hit that note and then repeat over and over. Vais has used this alot and yngwie uses it a hell of alot. Ive also heard paul do it.
