Post Question about miking techniques for all you guitar players.
Whats up guys, I have a question for all the guitar players out there about miking their cabinets for recording. My band is in the process of doing basic tracks for our cd. I want to get a nice big guitar sound, and I am thinking of doing the ole double miking technique for each guitar track, of a mic up close, and one about a foot away...anyone have any other suggestions??? Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
M6

I put my cabinet in my closet(my closet is insulated) and then i put the mic in the top left corner of the closet and point the cabinet up at an angle at the mic. Tunr the mic upo relatively loud and i come up with some pretty good sounding stuff.
