Just got the newer cd of his released off of vais label, it KICKS ASS!

Man, when I put it on in the car (yea, I found it at Tower Records! was so stunned!) the first 2 tracks just kick your ass all the way to japan. Just got to skim the rest, putting it in now and going to listen to the rest!

GET THIS CD!

Rock on

He does a lot of really soothing jazz guitar, doesnt he? Would that be safe to listen to in the car?

Emblazed are you talking about "That was then , This is now"?

I just got that CD 2 days ago. Its fantastic. My only gripe is that while many of the tracks are fantastic I don't feel each song has its own theme. (I can't remember them easily. I can remember every single Vai song however since they are distinctly different - if that makes sense)

Enjoy the CD ;)!

Andy's one of my favorite players. He can rip hard and play with great phrasing at the same time - what's not to like? :)

I haven't heard any "soothing jazz" from him. Although I know he's studied both jazz and classical. He's done some soothing stuff (IE: there are no words) but I definitely wouldn't call that jazz...if he DOES do it though, what're the names of some of the songs?

I classified him as that because thats what I thought he sounded like. I dont really know much about him, and dont listen to him much. Did see a video of his performance at the Ibanez anniversary show with Vai and Paul, but thats it. If it helps, I have a tendency to classify smooth, liquid like music as jazzy sounding. I dont know what he qualifies as, but thats just the way I name things. If you could help me in what he actually is, that'd be nice.
