Post Talked to Mike Charvel today!
Hey guys. I talked to Mike Charvel today. I talked to him about building me a guitar here in a couple of months down the road. He gave me some great advice on woods, pickups, necks, everything! Very cool guy to talk to!!!! Believe it or not we talked about amps more than anything. He has the same kind of Splawn Pro Mod that I do. I should add that they are really killer amps! 8)

I think that when I order I will get a Wayne Monster similar to the Ed Zilla but with humbuckers mounted directly to the boby.

Go to the website Rich. Its the Ed Zilla guitar, but I am going to get a double humbucker arrangement!

Chad, the guy was really cool. I mentioned your name to him, and the Racer X Forums. He was telling me about the first guitar his dad built for Paul. He said he has video of Paul at his dads shop playing Van Halen music, and apparently he did it note for note. Mike said Paul was only 18 at the time! 8)

Yup, sweet natural wood color. Wish I could get one of those Wayne guitars. What's it runnin' you, if you don't mind my asking?

Won't know what its going to cost till I acctually order it. Mike told me that he is backed up 3 months worth of guitars. I am thinking that if I wait till January the X-mas rush will be out of the way. My guess would be right around $2000. Mike told me that the natural oil finish is better for tone. He highly recommended the monster series for that purpose.

Chad, looking forward to the new website. Hope you get some really cool pictures of the guitars on there!

I've just been browsing on both Wayne sites and could spend days just looking at those gorgeous guitars! Hey Chad, if you see this, I have a question. I noticed on the Wayne websites that it says "Most guitar manufacturers assemble 3 to 7 guitars a day-they can't possibly be as good as ours." That's all well & good and I don't doubt it, but nowhere did it state the average time it takes to make a guitar at THEIR plant. Just curious, on average, how long DOES it take to make a guitar at the Wayne manufacturing plant?

If you get this Chad, thanks in advance for answering.

Well, since they're made from TOTAL scratch, I'd say probably 6-8 weeks.

You have to keep us posted with your journey to getting an ass-kicking guitar! When you get it, let us all know what you think.

Not a problem Rich. Probably won't be until March or even April cause I need more money.

I just wanted to say that Mike was really talking up the Splawn Pro Mod head that he has. I also have one. Check out the new clips on the Splawn site of the Van Halen tribute band. Frickin Killer! That is the sound that I can get out of my Mojave cab loaded with G12H30s. A cab with V30s can make the Splawn sound like Metallica! 8) I highly doubt that I will get another amp anytime soon!
