Post Laney AOR Protube + MXR Wylde Overdrive Clips
I finally found my mic and recorded a few clips of the amp and the pedal. This is with a really crappy mic that came with my computer, so the quality is not the best. And please excuse the crappy playing. :) For all the clips it's Guitar > MXR > High Input on amp. And master volume was almost on 0 for all these, my room mate was sleeping across the hall.

This first one is the lo gain setting with the MXR on:

This one is high gain setting with MXR off:

These last 2 are high gain setting with MXR on:

Cool :)

That thing sounds to have a fair bit of a punch to it :)

Only one thing bothers me... I can't remember the name of that rammstein song. :? Is it links 2 3 4? or am I going insane :?

hehe, name of the song is Du Hast (You hate)

Yeah, I'm really starting to like the tone I'm getting now. I'm hoping to get some cash together and pick up a Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 cab and a THD hotplate soon. It should really sound good with some volume behind it.

Thankyou! :D That's been driving me nutty :P

Glad to hear that you and your pedal are getting along nicley :)
I'm still playing with my DS-1 at the moment, but I might consider an MXR at some point having heard these....

Thanks :)

I have one of those Laney AOR Pro-Tube heads, a 100-watter. They seem to go for fairly cheap on eBay, and mine sounds pretty great, I think. I got a matching 4X12 cabinet for it which has Celestion G12T-75s in it, I think.

It doesn't sound so hot at very low volumes though--the louder it is, the better it sounds. I hooked mine up to a Weber "MASS" attenuator and turned it up out in my garage and it sounded pretty darned cool. Better than my 100-watt Plexi reissue did on the attenuator.

At full volume (without attenuation) the Plexi reissue sounds a bit better than the Laney, though. Probably because the speakers in my cab for the Marshall are getting into their "sweet spot" when driven harder.

The Laney sounded A LOT better than the Marshall at lower volumes, though. Which makes it a more useful amp. You don't have to crank it up to ear-splitting din levels for it to sound good. Bar owners will like you for that if you play in bars.

I'm happy with the tone from the Laney--thick, heavy, a bit dark. Very badass-sounding.

Mine needs a bit of work, though. It hisses a lot, the low input is dead, and it wants to squeal on the AOR channel. It'll even squeal on the normal channel with the volume and gain turned all the way up.

Once it's sorted out I think it'll be a great amp.

I had the amp/pedal set as follows for all the clips:

Prescence: 0
Bass: 8
Mid: 7
Treble: 6

Master Volume: Almost 0, just a hair above
Preamp 1 Lvl: 10
Preamp 2 Volume: 2
Preamp 1 Volume: 8

MXR:

Output: 12 'o Clock
Tone: 11 'o Clock
Gain: 1 'o Clock

Not sure if you could get the same reults with a TS9 or not, I've never played one.
